As Saalaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

First of all we must remember that it is incumbent upon us as Muslim to practice our religion as best we can in accordance to Quran and Sunnah, and if we can not, or if we are not near others who do, then it becomes incumbent upon us to make Hijrah or move somewhere else..be it another city, town or even country where we can practice our religion and be amongst other Muslims.

In regards to whether or not is is permissable to pray behind people who indulge in bidah, here is the Islamic ruling on this from the Fatwaa Committee of Saudi:

The scholars of the Standing Committee said:

As for praying behind those who follow innovation, if their innovation involves shirk, such as calling upon someone other than Allaah, or making vows to someone other than Allaah, or believing that their shaykhs have characteristics which belong to no one but Allaah, such as having complete knowledge or knowledge of the unseen or influence over the universe, then it is not correct to pray behind them. But if their bid’ah does not involve shirk, such as reciting dhikr that was narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) but in unison and swaying, then prayers offered behind them are valid, but the Muslim should look for an imam to pray behind who is not an innovator, because that will bring him a greater reward and is farther removed from evil. [Fatawaa Al Lajnah Al Daa'imah, 7/353]

Also, your husband should inform the Imam that he is indulging in Bidah and show him the proofs from the Quran and Sunnah. If the Imam then continues in his Bidah, then you should look for another mosque to attend... and if there is no other Mosque in your community, then you should consider making hijrah to another city or town or country.

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
