Praise be to Allah.

A juz is just a part of the Quran. In regards to how much it is, there is no need to worry about this because this work has already been done for you. By looking at the bottom of the pages of your Quran you will see it has already been sectioned off and numbered as a Juz, so no need to make Islam hard upon ourselves by trying to figure out things that were already figured out and made easy for you..
