Asalama Aleikum

I am a student attending a mixed college, due to arduous circumstances i am not able to attend a girls school, inshallah through this course i will be learning a number of crafts that will inshallah be of use to me in the future if i ever need to work, with these skills i can work from home. At college i am able to pray my 5 daily salats and i observe the appropriate attire for a muslim woman. I do however have male teachers to whom i must talk to about my work, i am able to keep my distance and conversation is strictly about work. At times i somethimes feel that attending college is not right because it is mixed. Also at times i feel asthough i should leave but my family would not understand nor would they listen to reason i would experience a lot of difficulties if i were to leave but at the same time i feel that maybe these difficulties would be a test from Allah. Could you please clarify whether my attending college is not permissible, and if so how should i deal with my family if it is not permissible and i must leave.

Jazakallah

As Salaamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

There is nothing wrong with you attending college as long as you dress in accordance to the way Allah has instructed women to dress (Hijaab Jilbab) and as long as you behave as a Muslim woman is supposed to behave.

Also there is nothing wrong with talking to men in regards to business or religion.

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
