Assuming this guy's story is correct, they had guns drawn for no reason other than his skin color.

As for random checks, which I find less oppressive than checks based on skin color alone, whether I approve is contingent on what these checks produce. Has it led to the discovery of evidence of a crime or danger enough to warrant even the use of resources? I would need to know. Based on the profiling of 35,000 hispanics leading to fewer than 300 arrests, most involving the possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, it does not seem that profiling or random checks is an appropriate use of resources that warrant the intimidation and invasion of private persons.
