Angelina had sent most the staff home for the holidays, what remained of her staff that was. Though Craig had refused to leave her alone, insisting she was accident prone, which she sadly had agreed upon. No one had pushed opened the door, solid oak and bullet proof since her remodeling, save a few familiar faces if only by acquaintance. Though as the door opened and a gust of wind brought a wave of snow inside, hazel eyes lifted from cleaning the counter to rest on a face she had not thought to see again. Eric.
Schooling her face to hide her blatant shock, though her eyes betrayed her, Angelina gave a small smile before moving to the back counter and pouring a clean, fresh, glass of water. Setting the glass in front of him without a word she moved away, keen enough to notice when he was preoccupied. She’d wait to ask how he was, later, though in truth she really wanted to know why he was back. She didn’t know much about the man in front of her other than he’d been working for the government, though which she’d never fully figured out.
He’d always paid his bills, and tipped nicely when he came in, and for a while a lithe blonde with short cut hair had flanked him. Cammie had been her name, though one day Eric stop coming in and only Cammie arrived, then even she stopped showing up, but not before the look of worry had crossed her otherwise emotionless gaze. The two of them were known for their icy stare, she recalled her then human staff had mentioned they reminded them of killers. Which I guess when you think about things, they had been, though no worse than the supernatural beings that roamed then and now.
Moving away she noticed the blonde’s drink was low and moved to replace it giving a brief nod to the woman who she had noticed a few times but had never spoken to much, yet oddly seemed to know. Glancing at Craig as if to tell him to keep an eye on their two guests, she moved towards the back to grab some supplies before silently stocking the liquor bottles, reading the bar for the big New Year’s Eve party she was hosting. Everyone in CM was invited, those that were left.
