The refilled water was a cushion of sorts, giving her hands something to hold when they’d otherwise be busy fidgeting, it had become an unnecessary habit of hers over the years, though not so awful that just anyone would notice it. He didn’t say much about the car and she was silently grateful, it’d been a choice she’d mulled over for quite some time, agreeing to the choice only when Desiree had promised to commit half the cost of the vehicle. It’d taken her nearly a year after getting her license to buy the car, so it wasn’t a spur of the moment buy like some of the others the girl’s age had done. She didn’t comment on being introduced young to the joy of cars and the power they possessed, instead choosing to tackle his statement of holding on for as long as she can. ”I never was one to give up easily, I don’t plan to start now.” Wobbly smile given towards him, the redness of tears fading away as they moved to semi safer ground of conversation, at least for Angelina…she wasn’t sure if it’d be for him.

”Well I tried to live a rather boring life as Desiree will tell you, though she was still too young to remember the first years. The times of audits and frequent drop ins by Federal Agents, it nearly killed my business…” She actually smirked at this as she explained, ”Seems even vampires and werewolves don’t like when police officers start nosing around, didn’t help that most the population seemed to up and flee the years the followed. I could nearly count on my two hands the number of customers and regulars I had.” A sip of the water was taken as she tried to think past that to the decent years. ”Tommy stuck around for a little while after ya’ll left, but he soon vanished.” The man had been there when she needed him then gone the next day, nothing overly serious but still a friend when she needed him most. He’d hooked up with some blonde last she heard.

”I managed to stay in contact with the women of our group, well most of them. Sasha, Nancy, and I made a habit of meeting up each summer to hangout. Laurie Ann came when she could get away, Shania usually only called, but she did come back for awhile to entertain for me when the touring and federal attention got too much…” She was talking about the others more than herself again and realized it with an inward sigh. ”I owe everything to the girls and Rob, without them…I’d not be here.” It was a saddened truth, to realize she’d have given up so much without him. But Sasha, Desiree, the other ladies of the crew, and Rob…they’d made it possible for her to continue on with her life, they’d given her a reason to. ”We can probably thank Rob for Desiree’s continued liking of cars. He and Elden worked in the garage a lot when he was around, didn’t talk much but always working, Desiree was the annoying magpie that followed them around. She still calls him Uncle Rob.” Hazels glancing to see if this upset him, but again he’d been honest with her and she aimed to do the same for him.

”He left a few years back, was just suppose to be a trip…but he never came back. I haven’t heard anything from him in over two years now.” Little did she know the man was most likely never coming back, due to circumstances that were beyond them all. ”I kept the houses from being ceased, tended here, saw more than my fair share of changes in men and women come through looking for employment…few ever stayed.” It was all boring, boring existence; she’d done nothing to better herself after the crew left. She hadn’t become at teacher or professor, and she sure as hell hadn’t become a detective ”I guess other than living above the apartment and taking care of the club you could say I became a matchmaker of sorts…though I think that was known before you left.” After all she’d been the one to introduce Toby to Laurie Ann. ”I still went to the house when weather allowed, to swim, and I had one of the cowboys around the farms teach me to two step…” Holding her hand up that was defiantly bruised from the night before she sighed. ”I still haven’t learned how to throw a correct punch apparently, though Sasha is going to fix that, she’s gonna give me a few pointers.” There wasn’t much else to say. She’d had two men she’d dated since he left, only one she’d slept with and then even he had left. She’d been hit on left and right, as was the normal for her profession, but she’d not been looking for anyone. She’d been focused on supporting their daughter who was away at boarding school…trying to provide for her in a way that this town couldn’t. Her life truly revolved around the spitfire brunette bundle of nerves they’d created, and it always would till the day she died.

"That's about it...unless you have any particular questions?" She wasn't opposed to answering any he'd have, she just didn't know what he wanted to hear anymore...something she'd never had a problem with before.
