I, too, have my doubts that there will be future XF movies. Neiter GA nor CC has shown much interest in it (DD, surprisingly, has; or maybe it's not so surprising. . .he was the only one of the "big three" to quit the TV series *before* he got absolutely sick of it) and, given the lackluster ratings of the final two seasons -- and the fact that sequels, overall, didn't do too well at the box office this past summer -- I don't really know that any studio would want to bankroll a major movie production based on the show.
I've heard the prequel business, too. IMHO, it doesn't make much sense. . .DD and GA are attractive and in good shape for their ages, but I don't think they could convincingly play twentysomething rookie FBI agents or medical students at this point in their lives. The best place to set a second movie, I think, would be immediately after the first movie, between seasons five and six. There is almost universal agreement that seasons three through six were the highpoint of the XF years and this might make the point that the XF movie universe is slightly different than the XF TV universe.
