Pretty much for the reasons you said. I don't know why the comlaints about wrapping up the Luke case. I think by now they knew the show was ending this year so better to wrap things up than leave us hanging.
I didn't notice that the tide had come in.

And the schizophrenic guy (the actor did a great job) could very well have gotten through the FBI tests. Have we learned nothing from the John Nash case? Hayes was obviously very bright. He had taken up an assumed identity so I don't know why it would be so hard considering the Feds had a Russian spy in a high ranking position for years and didnt even know it! So Hayes getting in would be easy peasy. I think Hayes would be a great asset to the FBI on future cases. cases. And real FBI profilers ARE very obsessive.

I liked seeing John's wife who was also RPs wife. Funny her giving a thumbs up to a John and Monica pairing. And Scully had an interesting reaction to her comment.

So that *was* the same guy from Invocation. I wasn't sure. See we even had continuity.

It wasn't great but I thought it was ok. And nice spooky direction from Kim Manners.
One thing that kind of bugged me was the after taste from last week. Just about every time I saw Scully in this I was thinking, "there's the woman who gave her baby away. :-( "
