Hi Dan,
I was on that cruise, as 2nd Radio Officer. I served on Uganda for about a year. We had lots of Canadian schoolchildren and I remember the officers playing deck hockey with some very big, very physical Canadian lads; we had to try to remain gentlemanly and respectful despite some provocation! I also DJ'd the school disco's many times.
One of the many benefits of life on Uganda was that the officers got to go on the school shore excursions, as helpers.
Like you, I have many happy memories.
