I was on this educational cruise with Ravenspark Academy, Irvine (now re-named Irvine Royal Academy)and remember it well. From boarding the ship at Greenock the first stop was La Rochelle, also a ferry over to Isle de Re; port of Cadiz for Seville; Oporto; final stop Casablanca, remember going round the souk and stall holders chasing the boy pupils away! Return journey through Bay of Biscay was awful. Yes the lessons on board were a waste of time. I visited a 'Festival of the Sea' a few years ago in Portsmouth and there was a 'SS Uganda' stall manned by supporters of the ship. Unfortunately I do not have any souvenirs from my trip despite having a camera with me as I didn't get my photos developed on return.
