 I was on this cruise with a group from Colne High, Brightlingsea. It was certainly eventful! I recall the weather in Malta was scorching - but it certainly went downhill from there. The storm was, I was told later, the worst in nearly 25 years in that part of the med. I was gutted at not getting to Egypt as it was to be the highlight of the trip for me. Spending two days circling in hurricane force winds in the Med was not an enjoyable alternative :) I also recall that big wave - we had to rush down to the dorm and pile all our cases on the top bunks while a team of crew ran around frantically trying to mop up the water. I seem to recall hailstones the size of marbles in Israel too but the sun returned by the time we got to Cyprus. The bent rudder leaving there was a result of a nearby Russian ship getting a bit to close in limasoll harbour I think. It did sort of fit in with the overall way of things methinks - lol. I have to say it was still great fun and in a way all the things that went wrong just made it more of an adventure!
