We flew out from Gatwick on a DanAir BAC1-11 on 3 November 1981 (I remember the date because it is Adam Ant's birthday and I was a big fan) We flew to Split and our other ports of call were Sparta and Mystra (not sure if spelling is right), Epheses, Alexandria, Gythion, and we flew home from Venice.

I had the best time ever, it was my first flight, and my first cruise. We had a couple of days of bad weather and I think we emptied the tuck shop of all the chocolate until there was only Twix left. Laurie Anderson's O Superman was on the juke box in the common room. I remember putting our dirty plates on the side in the galley and seeing only the hands of the staff who wiped all the leftovers into a bin with their bare hands. I remember the Gully Gully man in Egypt doing magic tricks with live chicks. I remember sailing into Venice and seeing a barge sailing past with a train on it. I loved Egypt. I only have a few photos of the cruise as I had a borrowed camera and wasn't sure how to use it, but I still have my official group photo. I would love to repeat the same journey with my digital camera. It was a great holiday.
