I was on this cruise probably on the same flight too - Dan Air Comet from Gatwick. This was my first time abroad, I remember visiting Malta and seeing the beautiful clear blue sea and feeling the hot sunshine. I can't remember the name of the Greek Island we visited next but I do remember that there were lots of Greek guys sitting on the harbor wall clucking at us (we were a group of school girls from Buckinghamshire)! The next port of call was Alexandria where we traveled to Cairo for the museum and Giza for the Pyramids & Sphinx. The sights were amazing but it was a bit of a culture shock. Early the next morning I heard a loud bang and the there was a lot of commotion as students from the lower decks were moved up and had to squeeze into other dorms. We hit a sandbank on the way out of Alexandria and had to head to Athens for dry dock. Such a shame our cruise was cut short. I was looking forward to visiting Turkey and Venice. I think we had to have lots of jabs to visit Turkey!! :-( I don't remember much about our Stay in Athens only that our hotel in was very near the airport. We went on a few coach trips and visited several amphitheaters.

Such a great experience, it has had a big influence on my life, thanks Mum & Dad x

It would be great to hear from anyone else who on this cruise. Were you one of the students who had to move dorm? Was there some flooding on the lower decks?
