Think the forwards need to protect the lad, I know we were down a few but saw him in the club , the lad looked battered , can,t enjoy making these tackles on forwards and covering 15. Think we could try him and Gareth together one at 9 and one at 10

Welsh outscored us by 5 tries to 4. Arguably Mose should have had a penalty try near the end when Bress was chasing a kick through and was impeded - the ref gave a pen only which seemed a bit strange.

But the real story is that, for at least the first 50 minutes, Mose were awful - quite possibly the most abject performance at Billesley.

Smith and Caskie must be looking at the players who cannot/don't want to tackle. Some players have contracts who clearly don't deserve them. Welsh were deserved winners, but politely waving the opposition in for ALL FIVE tries was beyond belief.

The cup may be good for giving some players a rest and others a try-out; it may even be good for trying out some new ideas; but if the team picked cannot do the very basics of tackling then we're just wasting everyone's time and supporters money.

The idea of Friday night rugby under the lights with a bit of atmosphere had its appeal. It was hoped that a few Saturday players would turn out to watch - how did anything tonight encourage the thought that they should come again next week?

A couple of other points.

If we're going to have floodlit rugby, we need floodlights that are reliable. We don't want to end up paying Ulster's costs next week.

What is with the shirt numbers? I thought that the Bristol commentators were nit-picking when I heard it on the radio, but it was hard to distinguish for supporters too. Perhaps that was the problem for the players tonight.

Well done Charlie Simpson-Daniel - two good finishes. You made an impact!

There are a few mad fanatical supporters coming up to the game tomorrow night and we all look forward not only the game but equally important having a beer or two with the Mose supporters. What ever happens tomorrow night may the friendship and camaraderie which is synonymous throughout the rugby fraternity continue between our two clubs. PADDYTAF.

I have just received an e-mail from the RFU which includes an article headed "Rugby attracts new commercial partners". Mention is made of LV, Nintendo UK, Telegraph Media Group and Rhino Rugby. Sadly, no mention is made of any sponsorship for The Championship or the B&I Cup. Having set up these competitions, why has the RFU seemingly walked away from them?

Somebody in TW1 needs a kick up the backside before another 'Bees fiasco' develops!! Perhaps the RFU should allow the clubs to keep all the money raised from the sale of the draw tickets?

JMC looked good and Borgen looks absolutely quality!! And the rest of the squad are looking better and better with every minute they play.

It's about time we had some positive posts on this board!

As is always the case the club is in need of your help. As you'll see from Moseley Matters constant requests go out for volunteers to help on match day and other times during the season. So, get off your hobby horse or soap box if you prefer and make yourself known to anyone called 'Alan' at the club (Potter or Adam) or anyone in a bright yellow jacket and offer your time to the club.

OK!...Guy's, In the spirit of Hollywood, all this "Bring me the Head Smith & Caskie" is, after 9 games unhelpful at best & is actually downright devisive & damaging!!.. So...time for a new thread.
The team will know themselves how they fronted up (or not) against Bees & after this weeks' training, will I would imagine be pretty fired up for 'Titans.'
A thought for all the Knockers!!!... With a good win against 'Titans' & with Welsh probably not relishing a visit to Cov....& with Pirates hosting Bedford....we could be fifth by next week-end.
So quit bashing the Coaches & by association the team & rejoice in the fact that 6 or 7 years ago Mose were pretty much 'belly-up!!'

Four points and a win for moseley ts week. A very poor performance by our standards it was if we just expected that just turning up would give us a win and five points. In the first half we looked like we were going through the motions.
With a full squad to choose from then there are some very puzzling selctions if you consider, current form , past performances, enthusiasm for the side and commitment.
One in particular that continues to confound me is the continued selection of Bryn Keys!!!! By his own admission he has had a very poor start ( I think he even said embarassing) credit to him for recognising that, BUT he is unable or unwilling to tackle in the centre, I suspect if you reviewed every game he has played in for moseley you will find that when the opposition run at him especially from first phase he just falls off the tackle. It is an obvious key channel for any opposition to attack us becasue of that weakness. It has cost us ground and tries time and time again. THIS MUST be addressed. he plays centre like a matador , waving the opposition through !!!
Secondly, why why why is nathan bressington not a starter every week??? he is aproven finisher who goes looking for work and plays with passion and enthusiasam(spell check). Whereas Rob Thirlby looks uninterested, again is poor in defence ( and the tackle) probably a stone overweight. In summary he does not look like he wants to be here at moseley and to be honest he should not be on the pitch whilst we have btter , fitter and more passionate options.
If we are to address our deffensive frailties then these are to blinding obvious places to start.Stem the tide and take the blinkers off !

Not the best game yesterday but think the change at fly half made a big difference. Not that the starting no 10 had a bad game but when Andrew Borgen came on there just seemed to be more organisation in the back line that was lacking in the first half. Thought he tried to take charge of the game and gave a bit more direction for the guys to play with. Looking forward to seeing if he gets given the no 10 shirt next week to give us a bit more of a look at his undoubted talent!
