Great to see such a thorough rejection of the "pull the ladder up" attitude from Tony Rowe. I think it's important that there's someone at the top table pointing out the inequities of the current situtaion and long may it continue to be so. As the RFU don't seem to pay any attention to the voices of those outside the Prem perhaps some valid points may, in time, get a hearing by the powers that be.
To my mind there are 2 possible approaches - either level the playing field with the sort of grants/loans Rowe is advocating or require that clubs in the AP whose grounds do not meet the criteria use their RFU money to get their grounds up to scratch.
The suggestion that there were "unambitious" clubs in the old Nat1 is insulting - we all have ambitions and would be a damn sight more able to pursue them if we had the kind of hand-outs the PRL clubs enjoy.
