In reply to: Phil Hall 's message, "Plymouth v Moseley" on "Sat, Mar 12 2011, 11:52:32 GMT"

Like Phil I'm hugely disappointed with the result, especially having had so much possession. For the first 20 mins albion hardly had any ball but we were unable to break their defence. We the conceded a very poor try from a line out and gave away a silly penalty to fall 10 points behind. However, the 20 points winning margin rather flattered Albion. Result apart, it was a great game of rugby and all is not lost. Heads up lads, let's bag us three home bonus points wins.

I agree with west country Mose that the Plymouth game was a good entertaining game to watch - even though we lost. I was concerned that the game didn't change realy untill msrs Taylor, Davies and Bishop came on. Up till then Rea was forver receiving hospital passes and de la harpes passing left something to be desired. I know he needs to learn but his passes are more often than not high, low wide, short or long whereas Taylor has a much quicker, reliable and more accurate "ball in the belly" pass. It is a diservice to his skills that he does have a panchent to dawdle at times but, by contrast, he can play a very quick passing game if he puts his mind to it. And where the forwards go with their problem crossing the line from short I do not know. Armitage had a superb game, but he was often unsupported and his many forages over the gain line came to naught. But well done Bev. I am dissapointed we got nowt but I will be at the Bees match. Who will win? You tell me!!

Going away to Plymouth and Esher were always going to be the tough games. I think points from these would be considered as a bonus. It’s the other 4 we should be hoping to get points from – the 3 at home and Bees away - and if we do it should be enough to stay up.

From the reports posted and the commentary on the radio the score flatters Plymouth and there were positives that we can take from this. The team competed and created chances they just didn’t take. The selection had some surprises which I assume were an attempt to play to a different style to that expected by Plymouth. With Taylor, Davies and either Bress or Bishay coming back I think we should have some optimism for the next 2 home games. Two wins from these would do the confidence no end of good…..for all of us!
