Yes...we should be thankful for the dross that's been served up over the last 2 seasons and shouldn't have any concerns about the pending downward spiral facing the club should we get relegated.

I thought we were a real rugby club with a proud history? If you're not concerned about the standard you may aswell pop over the common to watch the oak...no disrespect inteneded

Dissapointed, i think you have got me wrong. I Didn't mean that i am happy with the standard of rugby. Let me explain, i have only been watching rugby and Moseley for a couple of years and still learning the laws of the game so i am not qualified to express my opinions of previous seasons like yourself. What i actually meant was that i am Moseley through and through, so much so i put them higher than WBA who i have watched for over 40 years.I am a member of MSA and would dearly love to be a season ticket holder but work commitments stop me being so.I was at the game Saturday and will be there on Friday. I am sorry if i have offended you or any other Mose supporters believe me it was not my intention i just want to watch the lads play.

Apologies for coming across sharply...I suppose the defeat on Saturday is still quite raw!

I think everybody on here is agreed that we'll still be behind the team, relegated or not. It's just tough to see the team constantly on the brink, made tougher this year by some seemingly poor coaching, team selection etc...

I really think that it's time for Smith to go at the end of year, whether we survive or not. I appreciate the work he's done in his time here, we've enjoyed seeing some talented youngsters through the Gloucester arrangement and had a day I'll never forget down at Twickers. However, I'm not convinced his heart's still in it, he's obviously got a cushy role at Hartpury, and anyway...he methods clearly aren't working anymore.

My first game was the Twickenham game and to be honest because i can't get to many games it was a long time before i saw Moseley lose. It may sound strange but i read this page every day and i enjoy reading the opinions everybody has about the club and sometimes get confused because the team gets changed that much i don't actually know who they are on about. What i do feel and i stand corrected if i'm wrong but a lot of players seem to be played out of position regulary. Surely if i'm right and i can see this then the coaches should as well.

I am not a regular contibutor to this forum although I often read people's comments.
Today I am moved to respond to the remarks made regarding Moseley Oak and their standard of play. The person who made the comment implies that the standard is low.In this the individual is incorrect and while stating"no disrespect intended" it is of course profoundly disrespectful.

Moseley Oak came into being 3 years ago and ,as a Former Moseley player and as a shareholder,I was asked to become Chairman with a remit to offer high quality aspirational league rugby to former Colts or those who wished to play at a demanding level but not as a professional or semi -professional.The remit was further to secure promotions (2 in 6 seasons) for the 1st XV and to offer good rugby at non 1st XV level.

Three years on we stand top of our division and have a good chance of promotion. The 1st XV that scored 11 tries against a decent Wednesbury team last Saturday contained 11 ex Moseley Colts and 12 players who have represented their County at various levels.

Seven of the squad have represented Moseley Development XV this season and the team have an outstanding and demanding coach in John White who simply does not accept low standards.

In short, the standard is good, occasionally very good as the 86 tries scored season to date would suggest.

It is not helpful to be used as an example of low standards and if the individual concerned would care to contact Head Coach-John White or myself we would be delighted to invite them to watch us play.

Chairman-Moseley Oak R.F.C

It wasn't intended as a pop at the Oak, who are doing great things as the league table shows. The point being that they aren't a Championship side, with an edf, player cup, and numerous lions internationals in their history. And for a side that do boast this, I find the lack of concern as to what level they play at rather disconcerting.

Offence was obviously taken for which I sincerely apologise, but I stand by the point I was making.

But Moseley Oak IS part of the club you mention. It is the club's amateur arm and is a much a part of the club as any of the club's other sides. In fact being coached by John White who was main stay of Moseley Rugby club as captain, coach, committee man for many years, it reflects the ethos of the era refected by the International players you mention.

What? People pay a lot of hard earned money to watch Championship rugby (whether it be semi-pro or pro) and do not expect performances below that level. Moseley Oak are part of our club and yes we do support and follow them when possible but they are an amateur team several leagues below the first XV. No disrespect is meant to Oak by anyone here, and I think it's more than amazing to see parts of the Moseley family doing well, Oak and Colts especially. Comments are being totally taken out of context here and perhaps just getting behind the club as a whole would be better thinking?

I fully understand the history of Moseley Oak and where they fit into the club's structure. I'' reiterate that they're clearly doing very good things, which is great to see.

My point was never "If you want to watch a low standard or rugby, go watch the Oak" it was more "If you're unconcerned about the level of rugby you're watching you may aswell save yourself £150 a year on a season ticket and go to watch an amateur side".

I've clearly not voiced my opinions very well and again would like to apologise for any offence caused.

Think I brought this one on myself for having the audacity to think we should expect more from a Championship side than their Midlands 3 offshoot.

Have a good'un on Friday night, hopefully celebrating a much needed win!
