What was that aphorism about absolute power corrupting absolutely? The universe is about balance between opposites; ying yang; electron proton positron; matter anti-matter etc etc etc.

The USSR was needed to balance the weighty greed of the West and despite insurrections by Sandinistas and their ilk and the uncomfortable closeness of castro's Cuba to the beaches of Florida, the world nehaved itself.

Nostrodamus may have been right. Thw Jehova's Witnesses may have got it right. There IS now a confrontation between 'civilisations' ... that of the capitalist West and that of the Sharia Islamic World.

With exciting news of science explaining how insignificant we humans are, we just are incapable of getting rid of our bullshit. We huff and puff as if we are omnipotent, yet we are no more than powder puffs in this scheme of things.
