PNG never protects separatist from Papua: Ambassador

JAKARTA (JP): The government of Papua New Guinea(PNG) never protected separatists as well as other criminals from Papua, Antara reported.

Indonesian Ambassador to PNG Drs J.R.G. Djopari said here on Saturday that PNG did not expected its territory to be used as the hideouts for those who violated the law in Indonesia.

He said some criminals and separatists might flee to PND due to vast border areas in Papua that compounding the two countries' security personnel to take control of the security along the border line.

Djopari also said that the number of PNG security personnel is limited, so that it is much difficult for that country to monitor the whole border it shares with Indonesia.

Separatists and criminals in Papua occasionally hide in PNG to escape from justice.
