Yes BV,
yes indeed.

As law and order in PNG breaks down even furthur. Then the areas in the Highlands, break up into areas ruled by Warlords, with heavily armed supporters. This is not far off now. (Another Somalia?)

Then Indonesian troops will move across the border, (temporarily). Citing security problems along the border, as the reason. This will be no more than these waring factions deserve, but the ordinary people will suffer most.

There is a logical sequence of events to follow, if things keep on as they are. It is not too late to stop it. But will anyone do so?

The politicians started this, by arming their followers. Now they are starting to flex their muscles, and are realising that there is no one to stop them.

I think there is a history to be written on this. One could start it from the Leahy explorations, to the present day. I was up to 3 AM. reading transcripts of the old patrols into the Strickland, Tari, and North west areas. I need to do some research in the areas. Coupled with a holiday of course.

We are living in interesting times for PNG......Ralph.
