VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE RACING RULES 2010

The CSRA will include (4) Vintage snowmobile racing classes at each event this winter.
The Vintage sleds will race on a freshly groomed snow race course. The race course will be the
same course used for the Novice class CSRA racers and will not include big air jumps.

VINTAGE RACING CLASSES

Vintage 1: 0ā€“300cc Fan Cooled
- 1974 or earlier (Leaf Spring Front Suspension)
- Engine and frame must be a production-line sled offered in 1974 or earlier.
- Minor modifications are allowed. Sled must retain close to stock appearance.
- Ski spreaders are allowed up to 3ā€¯ per ski. No expansion chambers.

Vintage 2: 340cc and over Fan Cooled.
- 1974 or earlier (Leaf Spring Front Suspension)
- Engine & Frame must be a production-line sled offered in 1974 or earlier.
- Minor modifications are allowed. Sled must retain close to stock appearance.
- Ski spreaders are allowed up to 3ā€¯ per ski. No expansion chambers.

Vintage Open Fan or Free Air:
- Snowmobile must be Leaf Spring and a minimum of 25 years old. 1985 model year or older.
- Engine and Frame must be offered in 1985 or earlier.
- Modifications and Expansion Chambers are permitted.

Vintage Open Liquid Cooled:
- Snowmobile must be a minimum of 25 years old. 1985 model year or older.
- Engine and Frame must be offered in 1985 or earlier.
- Modifications and Expansion Chambers are permitted.

Vintage Sled Rules and Safety Requirements:

- All sleds must have a racing number on both sides of sled. (Minimum 6ā€¯ high numbers).
- All sleds must have a tether cord engine kill switch.
- All headlights and tail lights must be covered with clear tape.
- All Ski tips must be taped or padded.
- No Studs permitted in any class. No sharpened carbides permitted in any class.
- Clutch guards and all stock engine shrouding must be in place and securely fastened.

Vintage Sled Competitor Rules:

- Must be 14 years of age or older.
- Must wear a DOT or SNELL approved Full coverage Helmet (any colour).
- Must wear a Tekvest. (Helmet & Tekvest rentals are available on site at the CSRA trailer).
- Must wear Knee / Shin pads.

Note: Racers are required to register in advance. (see Racer Forms http://www.snowcross.com ).

I can already see the e-mails rolling in so Please Note that the above rules are for races sanctioned by the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association, for Snow Cross races and although they appear similar, they are not the rules for any of the races at Eganville. Please see the CSRA site for scheduled Snow Cross races which use these rules.
There are no changes planned for the rules in Eganville for the 2010 season.

I have a 1979 Polaris 340 Tx. Hood has some stress cracks and could use a paint job. Seat just recovered. Track good. Runs good. Every thing is complete ie: airbox,handle bar pad etc. Tack not working.

For Sale 1971 Alouette GT36 Snowmobile -- alamore1@cogeco.ca (440 with DUAL CARB setup), 22:24:40 07/30/09 Thu

For Sale 1971 Alouette GT36 with 436 Kohler and DUAL Carbs.

Hood is not the greatest. Chassis is quite rusty in the belly pan area, but solid under seat. Rear axle is out of bearing cup on one side. One ski leg is broken and one steering arm is damaged.

Motor was seized, but I have got it freed up with a good soaking. No spark.

$300 OBO

FREE Moto-ski 1971 Gran Prix in Guelph -- Richard, 20:05:55 07/30/09 Thu

I went to have a look at the Moto-ski that listed on the acscc.com website. Not my cup of tea, or a project that I wish to get into, but well worth the price!
Here's my description:
The sled is quite solid. Chassis is very good (belly dent free), with some surface rust, and rust on top of tunnel (no rust through). Track is useable, hood has been painted, but is pretty good. All gauges and vents are there and in good condition. Gas tank and snow flap look perfect. Chaincase broken.JLO Motor apart, but all there (needs one piston and rings), crank turns smoothly and cylinders look good. Says 438 on the head, but Type 399 on crankcase. Seat is recovered, but foam looks good. All in all, LOTS of good parts, or a solid start on a project for the Moto-ski afficianado!

Asking $480 OBO

The GOOD -
- 293 Sachs Single motor - Runs - Rebuilt carb (new diaphragm kit) - New fuel lines - Has motor cover/console in good shape - Chassis seems solid and fairly straight
- Good muffler - Fair track - Bogies are decent

The Bad -
- Missing one bogie wheel - No Windsheild - Needs a proper seat - Slight damage to the hood - mainly around the one hood hinge - Rusty bumper and handle bars - Clutch guard is awol (not sure it ever had one by the looks of it). - Fuel tank neck in broken and will need to be plastic welded or replace tank.

TWO 1974 Ski-doo T'NT 440 F/A SLEDS FOR SALE - $225 for the pair OR BEST OFFER - SOLD AS IS, AS PICTURED -

BOTH SERIAL NUMBERS START WITH 3416

Parts sleds ideally.

Sled ONE is basically just a chassis, with skis and a hood. I DO have the Suspension to go with it. NO TRACK.

Sled TWO is some what complete - but there was a fire in the fuel tank area - which appears to have been next to it based on the seat and semi-melted wheels on slider and NO TRACK on it - at some point - and it has a sad shape 340 Fan Motor in it.

This was a one-year sled that evolved into the SST series starting in 1972. Sled has been sitting for a long time but is in pretty solid shape. Chassis has some rust but I didn't see any holes. Hood has had some repairs, good windshield and trim, good set of skis, nice bumper. Has the wrong motor, should be a 396 but has an SS338 from a GP Yamaha. Good compression and I got intermittent spark on one side when I played around with the wiring. Track is done, but there are lots of decent parts. Asking $125.00. Located near Goderich, Ontario.
