I don't think it hurts to have the common decency to wait for someone to return from being AFK before continuing. I can envisage times when this isn't always practical. While I would suggest common sense should rule, sometimes in the heat of RP, common sense tends to get left by the wayside. Even the 'best' RPers do it...

And this is exactly where a code of etiquette comes into play. Really, it is simply about having some respect for your fellow players, regardless of the respect or lack of it between your characters.

It is important to remember that just because my char hates yours, that doesn't mean I hate you. And just because my char is nice to yours, doesn't mean I like you either. It just means that I am playing my character as I think he/she should behave ICly given the IC circumstances he/she is in.
