Hey there Jim! Been a while. Looks like I'll be headed out in a couple of days to do a bit of nugget hunting on the Coquihalla river. Going to really put my Goldstrike through it's paces. So far, when I was up there before doing some testing, it handled the ground pretty well. It would lose it's "track" every so often (usually after going over one of the massive hotrocks and balancing to it) but did pretty darn good. The low tone would be sounding off constantly, but I was able to ignore it. This area would be an absolute nightmare to hunt with a conventional nugget detector due to the hotrocks. I thought about getting an MXT or another high dollar gold machine (GMT, Eureka Gold) but figured that, despite the idiotic limitations of the G.Strike, it would probably work better here. I have the X-100 anyway as a larger gold finder and backup. One thing I noticed about the G.Strike was the depth I was getting with the small elliptical coil.. truly outstanding. It would find targets as deep (or deeper) as the X-100; one would think I was swinging a PI. I wish I had the stock coil for the G.Strike, but I can live with what I've got. Must be getting warm down there; sure is nice up here. HH..Willy.
