In reply to: Cheryl 's message, "Joe's appearance in Chicago" on Tuesday, July 15, 08:46:19am

I agree with Karin. Charging for autographs and photos at these shows is just how these things work -- and some charge a whole lot more than he is. There is no other way to meet Joe so it's great that he is giving us this opportunity and I appreciate it. Quite a few people are making plans to attend and they are all looking forward to it.

Also, his talent agent and his signing agent are two different people with two different jobs. His signing agent has definitely been great about getting feedback from fans and posting updates. When we gave feedback that we'd love to have Joe do this show in Chicago, we knew how it would work so we're not disappointed at all -- we're very happy that he agreed to do it!

As Lori and Karin said - in case people aren't aware - these shows are for the explicit purpose of selling pictures and signatures. It was the same in Arizona when a group of fans saw him at the Festival of the West. It's part of the business end of acting. That's what all the attendees will be doing. This is not to be confused with when Joe has been at an event or on a set where fans were able to get free autographs or candid pictures. That is a different scenario. As for the rules- those are set by the company that runs the show- I'm sure there is a contract involved with the stars and the venue, to follow those rules. I guess I assumed everyone would know how this goes and I'm sorry if anyone is disappointed but the info has been out there. So it's a chance to see/meet him, get a memento and let him know how much he is appreciated for the actor we have enjoyed watching for so long.

What other reason would an actor do a show like this? They want to make money for their celebrity. Why not? Anyone with a known name looks for a way to capitalize on it and the "signing agent" gives the celebrity the ability to do that.

He will be on 2 episodes of HIT THE FLOOR on VH1 in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for them! They also post their episodes on their web site, so you can see them there if you miss them.

And I believe he will be filming a movie in the near future based on a book written by his signing agent and hopefully the other couple of movies he has made in the past couple of years will be released soon. I agree Cheryl: miss his smile and his voice too. Series television is missing out not having Joe in their show, which in turn has his fans missing out as well.
