Last night, a man in Everett was shot and the people who shot him ran down my street to hide and helicopters were flying overhead searching for them. I wanted to hide under my covers. I kept the lights on for a while. They still haven't caught them. The person was upgraded to stable condition. I have laundry in the basement and am afraid to go get it. When I was younger, someone escaped from prison and was hiding in the basement of some houses in the area. But we have security lights so I guess I'll go downstairs and get my laundry. Maybe.......

Dear Heidi,

I would not go down into the basement alone especially if they had not caught the people responsible yet. Maybe you could call the police and explain your concern and they might send someone to check it out first.
