Hi Judy, thanks for your message. I think of her a lot. Mostly, I'm surprised I survived that year. It was a really bad one. That year, I lost my sister in law, three friends, one cat, my father and then my mother. My father had been dead a month before we found out and I'm not too sure where he rates on the grief scale since he abandoned us in 1971. But my mother was really hard to lose. I think of her a lot and wear two ring that were hers. One she gave to me and one my sister gave to me after she passed. I put it on and haven't taken it off. I do feel something about my father, just not a heck of a lot. Mostly sad that he had to die alone, you know? He could have died knowing his children loved him but that wasn't the case. I feel bad for him to die like that.

I lost my mother in August. Even if was not at Christmas time, that time of year is always hard to get through for me. Sometimes I don't feel like celebrating.

sending you hugs, Nancy. I know how that feels. If on that first Christmas without her, we didn't have my brother's fiance's daughter to make us laugh, it would have been awful. She was five years old and sat in my lap the entire time. She's a good girl.
