Subject: I have a serger it is just not as user friendly as my sewing machine...lol Any tips on how to do this with a sewing machine would be appreciated. Also about how many yards of fabric does it take to make a cupcake skirt in a size 2t. Thanks so much

Using a sewing machine with a rolled foot attachment use the zipzag stitch and feed the fishline into the hem as you stitch. It takes a little getting used to. The amount it takes depends on how tight your ruffles are and how many layers. For two ruffle layers and 3 over layers you will need about 7-10 yards of fabric for a small skirt.
