I have a brothers project runway limited edition. When I want to do a gathered stitch I set it to a 1, stitch length is as wide as I can make it (either a 5 or 7 I can't remember) and the tension is on a 9. It barely gathers. I need it to gather as tight as possible without the thread breaking. Is there any way to change that? My old machine just had me screw a tiny screw in the bobbin a tiny bit and everything was fine but this machine is different and I can't find where to do that at. Then adjust and play around with it till you do get it right. And when you're finished doing the gathering, you'll know where to set all your dials and tensions back to it's origianl settings. HTH! No way to tighten it with a screw or anything. The tightest tension barely gathers and I have no idea how to change the tension any other way on this machine. Hope that makes sense.
