Author: Rey Mysterio for John "Bradshaw" Layfield
Subject: Debut
In reply to: The Authority 's message, "Opening" on 22:32:50 02/10/05 Thu

The crowd pops LOUDLY as Rey Mysterio shoots out from the ramp, making his way down to the ring as the fans give him his much deserved respect for his performance in the Royal Rumble.

A new theme called "Longhorn" comes on the speakers, starting up a video package for John "Bradshaw" Layfield.

JR: "Well now, I guess SOMEBODY got inspired by the "Dallas" marathon the other night."

Piper: "Big hats and pipe dreams aside, JR... you cant forget that this is Bradshaw, a man who's 6 foot six, almost 300 pounds and pure Texas tough."

JBL walks out to the ring with a towel around his neck and removes his cowboy hat. He then walks over to the announcer’s desk and puts the hat down in front of JR and drops his towel on him. He points up to the ring, telling Rey to hold on for a moment, while he makes sure his hands are clean. He finishes and then steps onto the apron, walking through it and stops on seeing Mysterio. JBL then thinks and goes down on his knees, inching forward on Rey and putting his dukes up.

The crowd chuckles as Mysterio stands with his hands on his hips. He then decides to kick start this match off with a low dropkick to the mouth! As JBL drops to his back, Rey comes off the ropes with a quick leg drop, covering for a two count before JBL kicks out with authority, almost sending Mysterio flying to the outside!

JBL goes falling back from the dropkick, holding his chin as he moves to his feet. Rey comes charging in and ducks a lariat, rebounding off the ropes and charges in. JBL catches him with a tilt-a-whirl, but Mysterio counters it into a spinning DDT! JBL his planted head first into the mat and crawls to the ropes, using them to pull himself up. The crowd begins to cheer as Rey comes charging in for the 6-1-9, but JBL ducks it and as soon as Rey's feet hit the mat, he rushes Mysterio, raising a knee to his head. JBL then shoves him into the corner and starts up with a series of rights and lefts to his head. He then Irish Whips Rey across and comes right forward with a big boot to the chin!

Rey doubles over, doing a full flip and lands face first on the mat. JBL looks down at him and then thumbs to the ref. He drops down and pulls him over onto his back for a pin attempt, but Mysterio shoots his shoulder up. Layfield thinks and yanks him up by the chin. He squares up and fires a HARD jab at Rey's head, shaking his hand out from the impact.

JBL looks inspired for a bit, and then Irish Whips Rey into the corner again. Mysterio puts his hands out, springing up and to the top rope, and bouncing off onto JBL with a dropkick! This floors the larger man, as Rey goes right back on the attack! He fires at him with rights and lefts, and finally a dropkick to the stomach. Mysterio then goes outside of the ring to build up some momentum. He springs himself onto the top rope and comes flying in with a body press. JBL stands up, waiting it in and catches him chest to chest. He takes a step forward, and makes a chugging sign and tosses Rey backwards with a Fallaway slam!

Rey goes rolling all the way out onto the apron. He pulls himself up to his knees as JBL takes his sweet time making his way over. As soon as he does so, Rey drills him with a shoulder block through the ring ropes. JBL goes back bumping so hard that he knocks down the official. As he staggers in place, Rey does the rolling signal before springing up to the ropes, setting his feet for the West Coast Pop, but BATISTA appears from the back and shoves Rey off the ropes and directly into a HUGE Clothesline from Hell! Batista moves up the ramp as Rey does a full flip in the air and goes crashing to the mat, laid out as the official pulls himself up, not having seen Batista at all! JBL drops down, not looking a gift horse in the mouth, and latches Rey's leg back, waiting on the 1...2...and 3 count!

He then gets up, getting his arm raised by the ref. JBL looks out to the ringside area and spots Batista, nodding knowingly. As JBL makes his way back up the ramp and towards the back, Coach walks out onto the ramp, mic in hand, approaching Bradshaw.

Coach: JBL! JBL! How do you think your debut went?

JBL: "How did it come off? Well, John..." *claps him on the shoulder* "I like you, I think you're a pretty spot on guy most days...so I'll get past the bunny of a question there. How do I think my first singles win of the past 6 years came off? Pretty damn well actually, thanks for asking!"

Coach: Actually, JBL... I was talking about your elimination last night in the Royal Rumble by The Rock?

JBL: My...elimination....You know what? I'm not talking about the past, I'm not talking about anybody who had anything to DO with the past. I'm talking about tonight, about my singles debut against a legendary mini, known the world over. And I am DEFINITELY, not interested in discussing the Rock. So now, Coach....you got anything else you want to ask me?"

Coach: No... not at all. Congratulations, JBL.
