I am very shy and don't have the guts to walk up to these guys, so I just try to focus on being different from the other girls in the crowd. It helps that I am mixed and look exotic which makes me stand out most of the time anyway.
I think what you do once in their presence is the important part. Don't stare like a deer caught in headlights. Try to catch their eyes for three seconds then look away. Be confident and don't try to emulate the other girls, these guys can smell insecurity a mile away.
Try to keep up with current events and learn everything about one or two subjects you are passionate about, just in case you run across an intellectual rocker.
Although your mind and confidence are most important, it doesn't hurt to have really good skin and a tight body, the competition is tough out there. Good luck!
