I have an 8½ yo daughter, Jenna, who is hearing impaired ... one of the additional reasons that I homeschool my children. The good news is that she lost her hearing after she was able to talk and hearing aids do give her about an 80% hearing level. The bad news is that the cause is autoimmune disease which means she could end up totally deaf someday. Luckily, she has remained steady for the last 5 years, so we are hopeful that her loss won't get any worse as she grows up.

Sorry to hear about your troubles with your son's agression. Ian can be that way, too ... wanting his physical needs met right away. He has outgrown the hysterical fits over the last 2 years or so. We are lucky in that he was diagnosed "borderline" Asperger's & ADHD and so he just has his quirks here and there with no full-blown characteristics. I wish you luck in finding a new psychiatrist and getting his medication right!

Kris
