Subject: musings...Our god, the state

I have been musing again, over how we have made the state our god--it can do no wrong, it is the source of all help, the answer to all problems, etc.

Last week dh talked to his dsis. She has an older son (from a first marriage) who has served in Iraq twice now. He is a basket case. He cannot get to sleep at night without drinking himself silly. It breaks her heart. During the conversation (talking about child molesters, we've had a rash of them released into our community lately) she said that if anyone touched or harmed her son (her youngest is 14) she would kill them. But just a few minutes later, was talking about how youngest ds was considering following older 1/2 brother into the Marines.

Dh and I find it so sad that, knowing how serving in Iraq has destroyed oldest ds, she is still supportive of youngest ds going into the Marines. She does not question what our gov does with these boys, where or why they send them. All hail to the great god! It reminds me of the children of Israel, forcing their chidren to pass through the fires of Molech. Interesting how the false god always wants our children.

Along the same lines, I am always amazed at how many parents struggle with the affects of public school--bullying, immorality being taught, teachers molesting children, etc. Their physical, emotional and spiritual safety is threatened. And yet these parents continue to offer their children on the altar of a false god.

OK, I don't want to offend anyone. Many people like PS, have no problem with what PS has to offer. That's great. But for those whose children are bullied, whose daughters have been sexually assaulted by teachers, who are taught oral sex, etc, and still think it's OK to send their children back into that environment...

~sigh~ Our children are so precious. I just don't understand it.
