This is not a "nautical" message.

I have just stumbled across the messages of Roger Botten and Gordon Sollors and have just contacted Roger Botten.

I have told him how a cousin of mine, Vivienne, has been searching for her father, Clarence Sydney Diels, who walked out on the family in 1950 and has not been heard of since.

Recent research has revealed that Sid, as the family knew him, remarried an Edna Elsie Woodhouse and they produced at least three more children. Two of these were twin boys, Mark Anthony Diels and Melvyn John, and their birth certificates show they were born in Southmead Hospital, Westbury-on-Trym on 4 July 1960. Their mother's address is given as East House National Nautical School, Portishead and their father's occupation as School Catering Officer.

Vivienne and I know nothing more at all about the school and anything anybody might have to offer on background to the school at that time (possibly a name for a local primary school, as Sid and Edna also had a five year old daughter Janice by then) and especially where the Nautical School records are likely to be deposited - and of course anything as to what East House was, would be greatly appreciated.
