Stephanie squeezed Spice to go forward and she sat back in the saddle. They trotted over some ground poles and the cavaletti, and went over the crossrail. Stephanie picked up a canter and soared over the first jump. "Try not to jump it too high though," Jennifer said, chuckling. Stephanie laughed and she turned Spice over to the 3 foot oxer. Sheurged Spice on, and he jumped it, but he came down too fast so his hind leg brushed a pole down. "It's okay, continue," Jennifer called. Stephanie collected Spice again and went to the next couple of jumps. They did those perfectly. Stephanie turned spice to the last diagonal line which was a fake stone wall and a flower box. Spice went over those perfectly. Stephanie cantered around the ring once before bringing Spice down to a walk. "Mel, want to give Princess a bath? I was thinking that Spice would enjoy one. We can take turns holding eachother's horses! "Sure! Sounds like a good way to gool off ourselves!" Melanie replied enthusiastically. The two friends dismounted their horses and brought them to the barn and put them on crossties where they then untacked then, and put their halters on. Both ponies' backs were frothy with sweat. Stephanie took off her chaps. She was glad she had shorts! Melanie's lightweight jodphurs were fine with her. They lead their horses out to the wash stall. Steph tied Spice to the fence with a slip knot so she could help Mel with Princess. Jennifer brought out the buckets and sponges. "It was a good lesson today! Remember to be quiet with those hand Stephanie, that may have been the reason Spice was tossing his head," Jennifer advised. "Yeah," Stephanie said. Melanie filled up two buckets with cold water. Stephanie took a wet sponge and squeezed it over her head. "Want some?" Stephanie said, going after Melanie with the sponge. "Aah!" shreiked Melanie. Stephanie started cracking up. The two girls each took a sponge and started bathing Princess. CONTINUE JENNY!
