 Alli smiled as she watched her friend Jessica go get her mare, Flurry. Alli called, "Hey Jess, wanna go on a trail ride? We could head to the cross country course and try it out. Feather is an okay jumper." Jess smiled, "Sounds great." The two girls got their horses and tacked up quickly, chatting with each other. They headed out to the riding ring to warm up and calm the horses down before their ride. The second Jess settled into Flurry's saddle, the mare erupted foward, bucking like mad. Jess sat deep, held firm contact, and smiled. How many times had Flurry done this before? The Saddlebred mare dropped to a trot and moved elegantly around, ready to listen to Jessica's signals. Feather was behaving perfectly, except for being very energetic. The two girls headed for the trail, talking as they began their ride.
