Eating through a straw is NOT fun. I've done it before (jaw surgery once) and it was fine--because if I could get it in, I could swallow it.

I'm not having such luck this time around. Apparently, I have a not-so-often occurring *thing* that results in sores, blisters, ulcer things in soft tissue. So....swollen mouth, ice packs, and eating through a straw. I can't even drink with a cup--too difficult. Stuff like pudding is sticky and getting it around my mouth and down to be swallowed is impossible.

I know you all wanted this info.

My point: Chicken Broth Soup is DISGUSTING! Absolutely HORRID. I thought since it had "Soup" in the label and there is also just the plain "Chicken Broth" that I would be safe.

I am not. Awful.

So here is the wisdom I would like to share with you (after my three weeks of dealing with this in the last three months).

Stuff that goes through a straw:

So, if you ever find yourself in the position of having an illness your doc knows nothing about until she goes to a conference and figures it out, praise the Lord!, now you have a list.

Feel free to add suggestions.....

[> go to a japanese hibachi take out place and get yourself some of the soup - its pretty much a veggie/pork broth - but at least it would be different (and I like it - at least when I'm not sick, lol) -- Aria, 09:25:34 05/09/05 Mon [1]
