The downtown core of the community hasn't changed much for many years, and is still the heart of everyday activity. Center City, the large mall, underwent an ownership change but otherwise remains mostly the same as when it was first built. With its vast variety of shopping options, it is still a popular way to waste a rainy day or a lazy summer afternoon. The Commons remains an integral part of the downtown, with its variety of dining options - from romantic fine dining to ethnic food court style to a casual hangout diner. Also in the area is the recreation center, which is open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. As technology advances, so does the rec center, but most importantly it is still a welcoming, convenient place to stay in shape - complete with the indoor track, swimming pools, and daycare facility. Longtime resident Jaden King still maintains ownership, but has learned to delegate more of the management duties to the younger generation to give himself more free time and less responsibility.

  He had picked her up at noon as promised but had been a bit quiet on the ride here. He wasn't much of a morning person and getting up at eleven was definately considered morning for him. A smile played over his lips though as he took in the kids running around and the general sense of happiness around them. Focusing on what he was doing, he paid for both their entrances and then placed a hand on her lower back as he guided her in but dropped it shortly enough, tucking his hands into his pockets. "So, whats your favorite animal?" He questioned, looking over at her with a curious gaze.

She found herself becoming more and more fond of Deryk and his quiet ways, it was easy for her to find herself with him and normalcy was a breath of fresh air. Leaning on the railing of the polar bear exhibit, she laughed at the animal's antics.* You know, my dad once told me that Polar bears don't speak spanish, and that was the reason why there were no polar bears at the zoo in Barcelona. *She smirked.* Of course, at four, I had believed him.   She'd done a shoot that day at her base companies studios which was nice because at the end of the day, she could just go back to her own apartment instead of a hotel room. A hand ran through her hair, it was scrunched with the wet look going on - she'd done a bathing suit shoot actually, lots of bright lights, bronzing make up and all that. She was usually so pale but she had done a mystic tan for this shoot and it had turned out well, bronzing her skn for the next five days before it wore off. She had a silk robe tied around her body, kicking back for a little while in one of the lounges with a few of the other models. She was the best thing this company had going for him - the best thing Ethan had going for him - and she was treated with the utmost respect by the other models and most of the managers here. Things between her and Ethan were more then a little strained. She - along with him and his little blonde - were the only ones who knew the complete true story behind his break down and the whole situation just made her uncomfortable. Her eyes drifted around the tables before she passed over the Star and Globe and all that for people - at least it ran story's that had some truth behind them.   He and Dre were sat in the food hall eating a couple of sundaes and chatting easily. Wes was suprised just how well they got on and how much the kid listened to him, it didn;t seem like he listened to many other people. He liked the kid... he was funny and had some life about him, he reminded Wes a lot of himself as a kid... and it got him thinking about what his own kids would be like... a lot like Dre he hoped. He'd offered to take Dre out while Keish got some shit done, since he'd taken the day off as he had no trails on... and as far as he was concerned it was a decent way to spend the afternoon.

  He was holding her hand as they walked through the mall - just a different type of feeling and picture for these two, the whole domestic/relationship type deal. The baby was with her mother which allowed him to have this whole night worked out perfectly. With a small smile he tugged her into an expensive looking boutique with loads of gorgeous dresses in the front, nodding her forward, he smiled at the woman who approached him. "Vincent!" The woman exuberantly greeted him, pressing a kiss to his cheek before she looked to Angel. "This must be the young woman you were talking to me about! Well, I will take good care of her!" He smiled, looking down at Angel. "Angel, this Maria, a friend of my mothers, she's going to be your...personal shopper." His hand cupped her jaw, thumb stroking her cheek. "Buy whatever you want, I am taking you out tonight...I'll be back in a couple of hours." After picking out a dress, Maria was going to take her upstairs to the salon to have her hair and nails done...all already paid for and set up by him.

  She was so unbelievably nervous her stomache was like a mess of over active, hyper butterflies. She was humming to herself as she sat in the chair - having her hair done. She had sent Ethan to go wander around while she got all prettied up, no doubt he had found some girl like Melody to entertain him. The thought bothered her briefly before she pushed it away and just kept on humming - much to the amusement of the obviously gay man doing her hair. The style ended up being simple but nice, still laying well past her shoulder and the cut, it worked with her stunning blonde hair. Her outfit was just simply great, dark jeans that clung to her curves with a black belt that boasted a large silver buckle with faux diamonds around the edges that glittered and sparkled when she moved. Black cowboy boots gave her a couple of inches and supported her still a little sore ankle while a white tank top showed off her bronzed skin and a jean jacket rested over it to provide some warmth and a sense of style. The accessories made the outfit perfectly, a flower shell necklace, silver hoop earrings, and a black cowboy hat that set it all together. She had changed into the outfit after Ethan left so he had yet to see it and she was a little nervous about his appraisal. It was strange how much she desired his approval, even if she couldn't stand him half the time. Most of the time, she just chalked it up to the fact that he was an expert on beautiful women and he was just enough of a jerk that he would be completely honest without sugar coating things. Once the man said she was done there she headed over to the other side of the salon to have her make up done. The young woman there exclaimed that a face like hers made her job easily and soon enough there was just a bit of blush on her cheeks, some bronzer and a bit of foundation to even out her skin tones. Light brown eye shadow, one coat of mascara and some soft pink lip gloss and she was all set to go - heading out into the waiting area to meet Ethan. One hand soothed over her stomach, brushing away imagionary wrinkles before she looked up - her bright blue eyes, so perfectly lined and made up now - searching for him.

  The drive from his apartment building to here in his Porsche 911 had been rather quiet, but the music had been cranked to drown out any awkardness. He liked to chat, but he liked to chat with people who he could relate to - and her, her he was just having a lot of trouble relating to. They were from two completely different worlds and had two completely different opinions and ideas on things and how they worked. His mission was clear though, and that atleast he could understand. So this mall just barely did the trick, for for now it would work, and he lead her quickly through the crowds and up a few flights to the poshier stores - slowing only once they were out of the hustle and bustle of the everyday people and into the serene company of high class....

  It had been a few weeks since she'd left her apartment in the middle of the night, with nothing but a few articles of clothing for herself, one of his shirts she had snuck out of his room before leaving and a box of kleenex. She had shown up at Gems place with puffy red eyes, her wild inky curls tangled around her face and her feet in a pair of blue fluffy slippers. Gem had finally convinced her to get out of the apartment for a while, she needed more clothes, desperately. so here she was, trailing behind her over excited sister, Gem was far more thrilled by the baby clothes than she was.

  She didn't want to be out anywhere and she didn't want to be around people, but her dad had all but kicked her out for the evening - saying that if she was still feeling so sick, she was going to see the doctor first thing in the morning, or else she needed to get out and do something with herself. Her girls had been calling persistently for the past few days and threatening to drag her out kicking and screaming, so she had finally given in and agreed to head out there with a small group. They had already been shopping for a couple hours - retail therapy was like nothing else - and she was sitting in the food court taking a break with two of the girls, while the other three or four had gone to hit a couple more stores. Despite getting out, and spending too much money on clothes that she didn't need, it seemed every time she stopped and allowed herself to think about things - her thoughts were instantly on him. His flowers had been of some solace - at least she knew he hadn't forgotten about her... But it wasn't enough. She wanted his arms around her, and the sweet scent of his cologne to linger on her clothing and in her room, and his warm lips on her cheek, his rough voice in her ear.. Exhaling a soft breath, she brushed a hand over her head, fingers twisting into her dark ringlets, tired; wistful gaze off on nothing in particular - oblivious and clearly not a part of the conversation that her friends were so engaged in. Her hair was carefully styled, make-up light but enhancing, and her outfit casually coordinated as always - faded and tattered denims fit to her hips and a rich violet v-neck wool sweater pulled over a long-sleeved white tee - but there was an uncharacteristic redness to her eyes and an absent hollowness to her rare smile, mind a million miles away from reality...

  Excitement lined the feisty Latina's face as she pulled Kaleb into yet another baby store, already picking out clothes even though they had decided to let the sex be a surprise. She had decided they should buy a few of each outfit and then just return whichever one they didn't need. She was quite obviously pregnant, at six months along she was definately showing but they hadn't started to really feel anything yet. The doctor said all was healthy though so she wasn't worrying and was actually pretty thankful for a calm, quiet baby. "Look how adorable this is!"
