Listen to them. I bought their greatest hits off of a late-night infomercial. You make a good point while at the same time being very broad with it. Let's take O'Reilly though as he is definitely one of the biggest voices against the ACLU. Why does he hate them? Because he's a social conservative and he views them as seeking to 'worm' their way into the courts in order to change our culture. I don't take that 'knee-jerk' approach but I respect him for doing so. Attacking O'Reilly because he's opposed to the ACLU only draws guys like me closer to his argument. Take the war on Christmas. I was raised in a community that was outraged by the fact that the Nativity scene was no longer going to be in front of our city hall. They sold the land to a private group and it so it still stands. Is that right? I don't know. I like that it's there but what about those who aren't Christians? They will feel left out and therefore I don't think the Nativity Scene should be on public property. Now, not spending one's money at a place that changes "Merry Christmas" to "Happy Holidays" is another matter. Censorship? Of course, it's also blackmail. But if we learned one thing, they only listen to our money. The danger, of course is that we begin to partition ourself when we should be simply saving our beliefs for our own home. So, I think you guys are right and that eventually you'll win and I won't like it but only because I'm selfish. But I can also be selfless so long as the situation is explained to me properly. Hence, I listen. "You decide the level of your own invovlement." Tyler Durden, "Fight Club" While that is certainly true you must concede must will not choose unless they have a reason to. Give them options. Personally, I think they are in this case and that Stewart and Colbert (and yourself) have explained their side of this quite nicely. Plus, "The Hebrew Hammer" is quite hilarious (I told you I met that chick in it, right. She grew up in Livonia. "Don't gas me, Fink." I'm high, is that it? Or did I delete the rest of your post?
