Well the Nebula would certainly level the playing field no matter what either side belives about the others capabilities. Under those conditions if the crew's were of equal expeience I would honestly have to say they most likely cause significant damage to one another with phasers and turbolasers. I doubt torpedoes or TIE's would help much. However if the Nebula had a sensor pod mounted it might prove helpful. Likewise if the Escort Frigate had a towed sensor array it might have an equal advantage. Probots and mines might do the trick if available, we know most Imperial cruisers carry weapons of this type as standard ordance. Mines might get in the way though, and the probots might not be able to send a clear enough signal back to the frigate. But the probots could broadcast sensor ghost of the frigates sensor cross section to throw off the the limited reading the Nebula class might be able to detect. I believe the Nebula's sensors would provide at least short range scanning ability with lateral sensors. Although the Nebulon B has powerful sensors and comm suites herself. If it comes down to broadsides the Nebulon b does pack quite a wallup compared to a Nebula class, especially with no shields. The Nebula would take quite a beating if she were unfortunate enough to get in the way of a broadside from the Imp cruiser.
