I can't believe it...I am actually on a roll. I have managed to lose a little bit more ( geesh it took me 3 months to lose the last 10 lbs!) but now I am at -79 lbs for over the past year and a half! It is Monday....and it would be sooo cool to be at an even -80 by New Year's day! Yikes, that is only 3 days away, I know. I have been holding at my current weight for a few days (the last 1/2 lb loss) so it isn't completely and unreasonable wish. Well, anyways that would be cool.

My mom just left to go back home and my 18 year old son is visiting friends in NC. They left 2 whole pies (they are in the attached garage to stay cool)!! I have been completely immune to their lure. I did have a sumptuous and divine dinner for our Anniversary a week ago. the restaurant is the same one we have gone to for the last 3 years for our anniversary. It is just wonderful...everything is so fresh and amazing. I wore the same red dress that I had worn to the company x-mas party. The dry-cleaners got all the stains out! We had pics taken which I need to get developed. (holding my breath that they came out nice.) The first thing they bring out at this restaurant is a plate of crudities (fresh raw veggies with dip). I didn't even use the dip...but happilly gobbled those up! Then I had a shrimp cocktail (I used the cocktail sauce very sparingly as I found out about a year ago that that stuff is really caloric....I never realized previously, thinking it was just like salsa...but it's not!)...then came a really gorgeous salad (lite balsamic on the side)....then I really splurged since I adore rack of lamb with mint jelly (haven't had it in a year! very fatty meat.) and their's is to die for and actually very lean! It came with wonderful fresh lightly cooked veggies and a whollop of mashed potatoes (which I didn't touch)...but I ate every bit of the lamb and veggies (by this time feeling rather full!) but very happy...he-he! Then I had de-caf coffee and she even brought me skim milk for it!! SP wanted desert and talked me into also ordering the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake!! (he promised to "help" and eat some of mine, LOL!) And guess what???! I had two tiny but amazing bites and it was soooooo good! But that was it. And I was very very happy and even took it back to the inn with us and put it in our cooler and it went untouched 48 hours and came home to my teenage son!! yup, yup. I was soooo proud of myself and feeling so great. And when I got back home to my scale I was rewarded by learning that I had lost a half a lb while we were away for our 5-day trip. Too cool. The Inn keeper is this fabulous gormet cook and she makes these amazing but very very rich 3-course breakfasts for the guests every morning. (after the third day SP wasn't feeling so great...stiff and logey and heavy) but last year and this year she fixed me every morning my special breakfast just as I specified...so I had an egg white crepe (6 egg whites and a half a tsp, olive oil) with a cup of fresh raspberries over it. So I felt energized and great the whole time! ( I got SP back on track and feeling better once we were home with total whole grain flakes and fresh blueberries every morning and healthy salads and such for suppers!) I had brought myself those packets of water-packed tuna and FF miracle whip and bought bagged salad at the nearby supermarket and my favorite low-cal dressing, and fixed myslef a lunch every day out of the cooler! Going to resaurants has also gotten easy for me as I look over the menu carefully and target something I can eat. At Applebees for example they will serve the chicken fahitas with no cheese or sour cream, extra veggies and cooked in no fat. I just don't eat the fahita wraps. At TGI Fridays or Ruby Tuesdays I can get a big dinner salad with grilled chicken and no cheese or croutons (is garlic bread comes with it I tell them not to even bring it.) and lite dressing on the side. Even McDonalds has Newman's lite Balsamic Vinagerette now for their salads which is my fave low-cal dressing! (just 40 cal for 2 Tbls. yet made with real olive oil...excellent.) I am also not afraid to specify in up-scale restaurants exactly how I want something cooked. I never say I am on a diet. I always say I have special dietary needs. No one has ever dared asked why! They figure it must be a heart condition or diebetes or something and they don't want to be rude. They also don't want to get sued if I keel over! ROTFLOL! So go ahead and be a *B* and state exactly what you want and how you want it fixed...call it a medical need or whatever. It is very effective.

Well, you wonderful people....I still have 10 to 17 lbs to lose. My New year's resolution is to DO IT! and excercise more...mostly for strenghth and toning. I have to say I feel fabulous and so full of energy and zest. I turn 48 this April....would be nice to be at my goal by then...we'll see. I figure I am in this for the long haul and a for-the-rest-of-my-life commitment. What's that Loreal commercial: "Because I'm worth it!!"

and so are each one of you. know it. believe it. live it.

lots of love,
Dreemy
