Subject: summer bloat

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but when hot and humid weather kicks in, I feel like I blow up like a balloon. And it's so hard to get rid of the bloat! It makes no sense because when it's hot like this, I can barely get myself to eat anything unless I'm in AC (my house doesn't have AC at the moment!!) And then, when I leave an air conditioned environment after eating, I feel really sick to my stomach. Dreemy's soup idea sounds really excellent, but since I'm so sensitive to the heat I'm afraid the warm soup would make it worse. I'll have to try it and see what happens. Our pool is open now, so I can take some pre-dinner swims to cool off.

I haven't been as vigilent with my dieting the past month or so, since school ended. Finals week was really hard, and it's just been hard since then. So, I'm trying to really get back on track this last week. One thing is for sure, the hot weather eliminates cravings!! I have to make sure I get enough nutrition though, because my appetite is so small in the heat it would be very easy not to eat enough, or to make bad choices because of lack of appetite. Also, drinking a lot of really cold water helps, but I don't think I've been drinking enough to get rid of humidity bloat. Blah, this weather just makes me feel so yucky.

I am still fighting off the remainder of a cold from last week. I'm very tired, and my head is still congested, which makes occasionally dizzy spells. I don't want to go to the doctor b/c I know they'll just prescribe an antibiotic. Any suggestions on how to knock the last of this cold out?

Dreemy, your soup really does sound delicious. I know that my mom would really love it too. I think I'll try it tonight or tomorrow.

Peace,
Scarlet
