"Tiner I need to see the Admiral," Singer demanded.

"Yes Ma'am," Tiner replied.

He called AJ and Singer entered upon hearing "Send her in".

"What brings you here Lieutenant?" asked AJ once Singer was in the room. "At ease." he added.

"Sir, I am here to report a personal involvement in a case," she replied. She pulled out her pocket tape recorder and played her tape of Mic to AJ.

AJ scratched his chin. "Tiner!" he called. "Get me Commander Brumby."

Within minutes Mic had joined them.

"Brumby," AJ started. "This lady here tells me that you've got a bit of a personal involvement going on that you did not tell me about."

"Sir?" Brumby inquired.

Singer played the tape again. AJ crossed his arms and walked around his desk. "Why the hell did you not tell me about this Commander?!" AJ demanded.

"Sir, I felt that you needed someone to handle the case, and I did not want to trouble you," Mic told him.

"Trouble me?! Commander you could very well be charged! Why not have yourself honorably removed from the case?! WHY would you go on with this lie?" AJ shouted.

"Sir... Sir I really feel that I can handle this case without showing any personal involvement," Mic insisted, struggling to keep his composure with the Admiral two inches from his face.

AJ calmed. "See to it that you do," he decided. "For if I do not see you trying this case to the VERY BEST of your ability, I will have you removed and name Lieutenant Singer lead counsel."

"Yes, Sir!"

Both Singer and Mic saluted AJ, and upon hearing "Dismissed" they left his office.

'Rats,' thought Singer on the way out.

A prison
Harm and Mac's cell

"Get up you two, you're in court in an hour!" yelled someone outside the door. Harm opened his eyes.

"What time is it?" he asked.

"Zero-eight-o-four" came a voice below him.

He grinned. "That's my Marine!" Harm jumped off the bunk and to the hard floor.

Mac grinned. She was 'his' Marine. "Hey Sailor, wanna help me into this chair?" Mac wondered.

"Not a problem, Ninja girl," Harm replied.

The guard just watched. 'They're obviously in love,' he thought. 'And more than likely innocent.'

Harm pushed Mac's wheelchair next to the 'bed'. He grabbed her hands and pulled her to a standing position. Mac put her hands on Harm's shoulders and took two shaky steps. She turned and sat down in her chair. Harm then walked around behind her and wheeled her to the door where the guard was waiting, key in the lock.

"Sorry son, gotta put these on ya," he said holding up handcuffs. "Prison regs. I'll push your girlfriend."

'girlfriend'. Mac liked the sound of it. She was Harm's girlfriend.

Harm was handcuffed, and then they started down the hall. "You know they didn't tell us we were in court so soon. Was there a change of plans?" Mac wondered aloud.

"This is the first I've heard of it," Harm replied.

"The JAG had it arranged," the guard told them. "Said he needed his officers back. Looks like he's pretty sure the two of you are innocent."

"He'd better, he's our lawyer!" Mac laughed.

They reached a door, which the guard pulled open. AJ, Bud, and Harriet stood in the room. Harm noticed that Bud and Harriet kept stealing glances at one another. They sure had something... just like he and Mac.

"Sir, Ma'am, we uh... brought you uniforms for court," Harriet told them.

"Thank you ensign," Mac replied. Harm nodded in agreement.

"You can change in there," AJ added gesturing a group of dressing rooms nearby.

"You go first," Harm told Mac.

"Need help Major?" Harriet asked.

"Yeah, actually, that'd be great," Mac replied. Harriet took Mac's wheelchair and pushed it into a room (the wheelchair room).

"Take care of my Marine!" Harm called.

Same day
The courtroom, the only one that is actually separated from the JAG building. (for my own purposes)
Falls Church, VA

(here goes nothin people, I swear I'm not good at court. Some of it's in here, but not all.)

"Your honor, I would like to call Major Sarah Mackenzie to the stand," said AJ. He wheeled Mac to the stand.

"Please raise your right hand," Mic said looking at Mac. He remembered the day when they had been lovers. Mac raised her right hand, and he came back to earth. "Do you honestly swear that the evidence you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?"

"I do," Mac replied.

"Please state your name and rank."

"Sarah Mackenzie, I'm a Marine Corps Major," Mac stated.

Mic sat down in the prosecution box. AJ rose and approached Mac. "Major, what were your plans on the day of November the sixteenth?" he questioned.

"I was going flying with my... uh... partner, Commander Harmon Rabb Jr." Mac said clearly.

"Did things go as you'd planned?" AJ asked her.

"Definitely not, Sir," she admitted.

"What happened that day Major?" AJ questioned further.

"We were flying somewhere south of the airport, over the Appalachian mountains, when the plane sputtered and went into a tailspin. Harm.... uh... the Commander that is... pulled us out and managed to land in a clearing. When we landed...." Mac launched into the full story of the events. To her, it all seemed so unreal. Like she would wake up and find herself back in bed. Yet that kiss that she and Harm had shared had been so real. It had been the most wonderful thing that ever happened to her. Mac finally knew that someone really loved her, loved her like she had never been loved before. Harmon Rabb didn't just care about sex or fun. He cared about Sarah Mackenzie, as a person, not just as a woman.

If THAT had all been a dream, she'd go insane!

As Mac progressed through the story of what had happened, the jury scribbled things on notepads, and everyone else paid close attention. When she reached the part where she had killed the first poacher, she found herself unable to go on. She thought about Harm, and suddenly felt more confident. The rest of the story came much more easily.

"This court will recess for lunch, we will reconvene at 1400," announced the judge, pounding his gavel.

Three officers entered the court room to take Harm and Mac to the lunchroom in the main building. Outside, it had started to snow. Nothing big yet though. From being in prison, Harm and Mac had no clue what the weather report was.

On the way to the lunchroom, both Harm and Mac were thinking about the case. Had they each testified the same way? They must've, they were telling the truth... They had nothing to hide.

Soon they arrived in the lunch room. Harm got himself some salad, while Mac got a beef sandwich. "May I sit next to the Commander?" Mac asked. The officers shrugged. "Sure" said one. Mac clasped Harm's hand under the table. She looked at him and smiled. He smiled back, making Mac go weak. He was the only one who had that effect on her.

"I love you," she whispered.

"I love you too," he whispered back.

"The defense is pleading self defense. But how do we know?" Mic Brumby stated. "All they have to support that is the testimony of a few witnesses! They could lie if they wanted to! Of course they don't want to be convicted! So consider that, when you decide your verdict. It leaves you know choice but to find both defendants guilty." So it wasn't the best job he could do. He sat down, looking blankly at the jury.

AJ rose. "The prosecution claims that we cannot prove self defense. Bud we can," AJ told the members. "Both of my defendants testified the same way, even though they did not hear each other's testimony. We have material evidence and other witnesses that prove my clients' case. Why would they murder those men, risking their own lives in the process? There is no motive! These two officers have an excellent record, and all of the evidence proves that the defendants did not murder those men. Therefore I ask you to find them not guilty on all charges." AJ sat down.

The judge pounded his gavel. "As there is a snowstorm outside, we must allow the jury to deliberate here. We will recess while the jury deliberates, but I advise everyone to remain in the court room." Glaring at a few different people, the judge added "Away from the jury."

"It's still snowing?" Mac asked Harm.

"Apparently," he whispered back.

Just then, Mac noticed a familiar face in the back of the room. She tapped Bud on the shoulder. "Bud, is that Ensign Sims?" she asked.

Bud looked surprised. "It is!" he replied. "I didn't know she was coming to the case. I wonder why she came?"

Mac knew why she had come. It was obvious. The two of them were in love, and everyone knew it! She wondered if everyone knew about herself and Harm....

"Has the jury reached a verdict?" asked the judge.

"We have your honor," answered the man seated nearest to the judge. He passed the judge a slip of paper. Upon reading it to himself, the judge passed it back.

"Please announce the findings," the judge said.

"On all charges and specifications, we find the defendants....

NOT GUILTY!"

The judge pounded his gavel and announced "Case dismissed!" After that the room erupted into hugging and hand shaking and congratulations. Bud hugged Harm and Mac and then ran over to greet Harriet.

"Harriet!" he exclaimed. "I didn't expect you to be here!"

"I wouldn't miss it, Bud!" she told him. "You did a great job."

"Thanks Harriet! What do you say we get out of here and go for dinner?"

"Sounds great!" Harriet replied. They walked to the door. Bud twisted the handle and pushed the door. The handle didn't budge. Neither did the door. He looked out the window. There was a two foot sheet of snow covering everything.

"What's going on?" asked a voice behind them. It was Harm, pushing Mac's wheelchair.

"We're snowed in Sir!" Bud exclaimed. By that time the whole room had gathered around the door. Everyone begun chattering wildly. "And it's still coming down!" Bud cried.

"Lets get out of the crowd," Harm muttered to Mac. He pushed her to a corner in the room. then he noticed that there were no more chairs. "Oh well I'll sit on the floor!" he remarked.

"I'm sitting with you," Mac insisted. Harm sighed. He had known that was coming. He knew better than to try to talk her out of it, and it WOULD be nice to have her snuggled up next to him...

Harm lifted Mac out of her chair and helped her seat herself comfortably beside him.

Mac was surprised. She hadn't expected him to agree that easily.

Someone was approaching them. Mac inhaled sharply when she saw that it was Mic Brumby. She'd gotten a nasty surprise upon finding out that he was prosecuting Harm and herself.

"Sarah!" He exclaimed. "I haven't seen you in ages!"

'Well duh' Mac though.

Mic eyed Harm. He leaned towards Mac. "You still available?" he asked quietly. Harm heard him. He looked at Mac. She was pleading him with her eyes to do something. Harm knew why.

"I would say the answer to that is no!" Harm said, grabbing the Australian's shoulder. "So beat it, Bug-me!" Mic opened his mouth to say something but at that moment he caught sight of their CO heading towards them. Mic closed his mouth and walked away.

"Thanks," whispered Mac.

"No problem," Harm replied grinning. She squeezed his hand.

"What's going on over here?" AJ asked.

"The... uh... commander was bothering the Major sir," Harm replied. "I'm just sticking up for her."

"Anything I should be concerned about?" AJ inquired.

"No sir, we have it under control," Harm replied. AJ looked Harmon Rabb in the eyes. He looked confident. AJ noticed that Harm and Mac were holding hands. Ah... now he knew what was going on.

"Let me know if there's a problem," AJ said.

"We will, Sir," Harm replied. With that, AJ walked away.

"Thanks again flyboy," Mac said once AJ and Mic were out of earshot. "You always seem to come to my rescue."

"No one I'd rather rescue," Harm smiled.

"And there's no one I'd rather have rescuing me," Mac told him.

"When we..." Harm begun. He was interrupted when the entire room was plunged into darkness. They no longer heard the heat running.

"I think the power's gone out!" Mac exclaimed. "It's going to get awfully cold in here..."

"I'll keep your warm," Harm told her softly.

30 minutes later

It was indeed not long until the room was very cold. And there was nothing anyone could do. There was only one door in the courtroom, and it was frozen shut and blocked by two feet of snow. They'd heard on the radio that the power was out for miles and wouldn't be fixed until morning. The only traffic was snowplows, and even they could barely get through.

Harm looked at Mac. She was shivering. He took off his jacket and scooted closer to Mac, wrapping his jacket around both of them.

"Warmer?" he asked.

"Yup," Mac replied. She smiled. She loved snuggling close to Harm. ...even in prison....

Two figures were walking towards them. Neither Harm nor Mac could see who it was. "Who's there?" called Harm.

"It's us, Bud and Harriet. Mind if we join you over there?" called Bud's voice. "The rest of the room is chaotic. It's like these people have never been cold before."

Harm laughed, as did Mac. "Come join us then," Mac laughed. When the pair got nearer, Harm noticed that the two of them had their hands intertwined. Mac elbowed Harm. "They're in love," she whispered.

"So are we," Harm whispered back. Mac smiled. She looked at Bud and Harriet who had settled themselves about a foot or two away. They were kissing, right in the middle of the chaos. Mac knew, however, that they were currently unaware of the surroundings. Ah... she loved it when Harm made her forget where she was. When he kissed her, it was like they were the only two people in the world.

"Look," she whispered very very quietly. Harm looked at Harriet and Bud. He saw exactly what she was pointing at.

"We should be doing that," Harm whispered.

"We should," Mac echoed.

Harm looked at Mac. She was still asleep, her head on his shoulder. As he watched her sleep, he thought how beautiful she was. In fact, though her hair was tousled from sleeping, and her uniform rumpled, he'd never seen her looking more beautiful.

Mac's eye's fluttered open, she smiled, seeing that Harm was still with her. "So, my Sleeping Beauty has woken up," Harm said softly.

"Well I'd better get a kiss from my handsome prince or I'll fall back asleep," Mac replied, displaying a large, false yawn.

Harm kissed Mac softly on the lips.

"Still... kind of.... tired..." Mac moaned fakely.

"Well we'll have to do something about that!" Harm replied. He kissed her again, but this time it was a longer, more passionate kiss. Finally they broke apart, both breathing heavily. Out of the corner of her eye, Mac noticed that Bud and Harriet were watching and whispering. She tapped Harm on the shoulder.

"We're being watched," she whispered.

"Who cares?" Harm whispered. "I've got my Sarah with me now, and that's all that matters." Sarah. He called her Sarah. Mac snuggled her head against Harm's chest.

"You're so sweet," she sighed.

"Don't let that get around, it's my reputation at stake here!" Harm laughed, pretending to be worried. She elbowed him.

"Let's go see if the door's still jammed," Harm suggested. "I'll help you into your chair."

"Let me try to walk," Mac begged. "I'm tired of that wretched chair."

"Sarah, honey, the doctor doesn't want you to walk on that leg until fri... omigod, Mac, you have a doctor's appointment at 1100!"

"Relax, Harm, it's only 0721!" Mac said calmly. "Bud fine, you win. It's only three hours, thirty-eight minutes and twenty-one seconds until I can walk."

Harm laughed and helped Mac into her chair. Once she was seated, he put his jacket back on and stood behind her. "Remind me once again how you do that?"

"I'm just special I guess," Mac replied plainly.

"You are that," Harm agreed. She smiled. Sarah Mackenzie liked being loved.

Harm wheeled Mac's chair to the door. He looked out the window next to the door. There was a small shoveled path leading to the door, and all the streets had been plowed. The sun was shining, and hopefully melting the stuff.

"It's shoveled," Harm said. "You wait here, I'm going to go talk to Bud and Harriet."

"Okay," Mac agreed. "Ask them if they want to go to breakfast with us."

"Will do," Harm replied. He walked to where Bud and Harriet were sitting. "Hey, it looks like we can finally get out of here!" Harm told them. "How would you like to go to breakfast with... sar... uh... Mac and I?"

"We'd love to!" Harriet spoke up.

From across the room, Mac watched. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Hello, Sarah.... would you like to go out somewhere with me?" asked the person. It was Mic Brumby.

"Back off Mic," she said firmly.

"But Sarah... I still love...."

"BACK OFF!!!!!!" she exclaimed. Tears came to her eyes. She didn't want to have to yell at him! She didn't even want to encounter him! She had finished with him a long time ago, why did he have to walk back into her life when things were finally making sense?!

Harm returned angry. " What do you think you're doing, bothering her?!" Harm demanded.

"She was MY girlfriend!" Mic cried, fire in his eyes. He stomped away, looking very angry and hopeless.

Harm bent down next to Mac's wheelchair. "Sarah... why does he keep bothering you?" Harm asked lovingly.

"I used to date him," she admitted, trying to blink back the tears. "I left him because I knew I had found true love with..."

"With WHO?!" Harm demanded angrily. "Good LORD, have you dated every man in the WORLD?!" Harm stood and walked quickly to another part of the room.

"Harm, no!" Mac cried. She attempted go get up and run after Harm, and immediately crumpled to the ground. Harm looked over at her. He resisted the urge to go help her, though he loved her. Maybe one of her other boyfriends could do that. Harm couldn't believe it. He'd thought he meant more to Mac than that. He'd thought that maybe she was the one. But then maybe now she was just dating him just to be dating someone.

Mac grabbed one of the benches and pulled herself up. She had to talk to Harm! What did he think? Did he think she had another boyfriend NOW? Did he think that she still loved Mic? Did he think that she dated every guy she met? He couldn't think that! No! Mac slowly hobbled to the front of the room where Harm was sitting.

"Harm I..." she started. Harm turned away from her. "Please, Harm, just listen!" she cried. He turned reluctantly. "Harm, the day I left Mic Brumby was the day
I met you. It was you that I was in love with, ever since I met you. I was just too afraid to say anything before now!" Mac told him desperately.

"Oh Sarah..." Harm whispered. He couldn't believe how he'd overreacted. Why hadn't he just listened to her?! Harm took Mac into his arms and held her as she sobbed softly.

"I thought... I thought.... you were going to leave me...." Mac sniffed.

"God Sarah... I'm so sorry! I just... I love you so much... I couldn't stand the thought of..."

"Oh Harm, I know. I love you too... I will always love you," Mac pledged.

From across the room, Bud and Harriet just watched. They had decided not to interrupt Harm and Mac's little moment.

Harm looked up from his separate little world and only found that the whole room had woken up at Mac's shout and was now watching them intently. Harm tapped Mac on the shoulder. "We've got an audience," he whispered. Mac looked up and saw the reason for the embarrassed look on Harm's face. They "stood" up, and smiled at all of their watchers. "Let me help you to your chair," Harm told Mac. "Perhaps you shouldn't run just yet."

"Probably a good idea," Mac agreed. She draped her arm around Harm's shoulder and together, ignoring the others in the room, they made their way to the wheelchair. Mac sat in it and Harm wheeled her to Bud and Harriet.

Just like nothing had happened, Harm asked "Ready to go?"

"Yes sir!" bud replied.

"It's Harm for now, Bud," Harm told him.

"Okay... uh... Harm," Bud corrected himself. The group walked to the door.

"Admiral," Harm greeted when they reached the place near the door that AJ was standing. "We're all going out to breakfast with your permission, and Sar... er... Major Mackenzie's got a doctor's appointment today. With your permission the Major and I would like to take the day off.

"Permission granted. I trust that you two have worked out your little problem?" AJ said without hesitation.

"Yes sir!" Harm and Mac replied in unison.

"I'll expect you back on Monday, Rabb. Major, when will you be rejoining us?"

"With luck, I'll be back on Monday sir," Mac replied.

"Good," AJ replied. I'll expect you at 0900 then.

"Yes sir!" she replied promptly. At that, the foursome left the courtroom and headed into the snow-covered world.

Bud, Harriet, Harm, and Mac were all seated around a large table. They were all looking at menus. One by one, they sat the menus down and looked up. Finally (and you know how long it always takes) a waitress arrived at their table. They ordered and the waitress left them at the table.

"So, Bud, Harriet," Mac said trying to make conversation. "Are you two dating now?"

"Yes, we are," Harriet answered proudly.

"Need we ask about you two?" Bud countered.

"Not at all, Bud. We're totally in love," Mac grinned. Harm nodded his agreement and grinned as well.

"I always knew you two were a perfect match," Harriet told them. "Just waiting for you two to do something about it."

Harm and Mac both laughed. "You two make a good couple too," Harm jumped in. Now it was Bud and Harriet's turn to grin.

Before anyone could say anything more, food had arrived and they were eating.

Harm and Mac sat in the waiting room. Neither one of them spoke as they waited for Mac's name to be called.

Finally someone emerged from a small room. "Sarah Mackenzie," she called. Harm stood up and wheeled Mac's chair to the woman.

"Please follow me," the woman said. She led them into a small room. In the room, there was an examining table, a desk, and two chairs. The doctor was already sitting in the chair next to the desk. Harm sat in the other chair and pulled Mac's wheelchair up next to him. She squeezed his hand.

"Sarah Mackenzie," the doctor said knowingly. He looked at Harm. "And you would be?"

"That's Harm," Mac jumped in. "He's my... uh... boyfriend."

"I see."

The doctor checked Mac over relatively quickly. "Why don't you try walking," he suggested. Mac stood shakily. She took a few steps. A surprised look crossed her face and she took a few more steps.

"I can do it! This is easy! I can actually walk again!" Mac exclaimed.

"Congratulations!" the doctor smiled. "You two may go now."

Harm and Mac left, blissfully leaving the wheelchair behind.

"Will you come up with me? Have some lunch?" Mac asked Harm.

"I'd love to, as long as you can make me something that never breathed," Harm replied.

"Sure!"

"Alright then, good day for everybody!" Harm smiled. "Especially being with the woman I love..." Harm placed a soft, lingering kiss on Mac's lips before getting out of the car.

"Mmm... and a bit more of that would be nice too..." Mac said blissfully.

The pair headed for the building, smiling the whole way.

"So, Sailor, am I allowed to have something that once breathed?" Mac wondered.

"As long as I don't have to try it," Harm answered. They both laughed.

Mac pulled open the door to the building and gestured for Harm to go in. Harm shook his head. "No way. Ladies first," he insisted. Mac walked in, pretending to be mad. Truth was, right now, she couldn't have been mad at anyone. Her act didn't fool Harm, however, because when he came in, he dropped his arm over her shoulder and laid a soft kiss on her forehead. Mac broke into a smile, and pulled closer to Harm as they stepped onto the elevator. They kissed again, as the doors closed.

"You know, Sarah, if we don't stop this, we'll never eat," Harm said teasingly.
Mac mimicked evil laughter.

Suddenly, the elevator stopped. Harm and Mac broke apart, waiting for the doors to open.

The elevator doors never opened.

"Harm, how are we going to get out of here, it's jammed!" Mac cried. Harm surveyed the panel of buttons. Below the buttons, there was a small door, with the handle labeled "phone".

"That's how," Harm said, pointing. He tugged at the handle, but the door wouldn't budge. "I can't get it open," he told Mac. She pulled on the door but it stayed closed. Mac looked around the elevator. No way out was found.

"We'll just have to wait for someone to call the elevator, then they'll call the manager when it doesn't come," Mac told Harm.

"Okay then... I've got an idea of something to do while we're waiting!" Harm said mischievously. They kissed passionately, finally breaking apart for air.

"Does it include more of that?" Mac wondered.

"Certainly," Harm replied.

1 hour later

"Harm, it's already been an hour. We can't just sit here and kiss all day, as much as I'd like to..." Mac told Harm. "I'm really starving."

Harm slumped to the floor of the elevator, and he felt something dig into his body. He reached back to find out what it was, and pulled out his cell phone.

Mac giggled. "You had that all along?! God, we could've kissed at my apartment!" Mac laughed, and gave Harm one of those smiles that made his knees turn to putty.

"What's the number..." Harm asked sheepishly.

"265-8341," Mac recited. Harm dialed the number. Soon he hung up, and told Mac "They're on their way."

"Thank God," Mac breathed. "I feel like I could eat a cow!"

"I don't think I could get that hungry!" Harm laughed.

Suddenly, both Harm and Mac felt the elevator shudder. Mac, despite her being a Marine, clung to Harm in fear of the elevator plummeting down.

Then above them, a square was removed from the elevator ceiling, and they saw two men peering down. "Oh, Mac, looks like we're getting out the door we didn't see! Just by using the phone I didn't have!" Harm said, turning red. Mac laughed.

"Guess we hid it well. Thought it might be good for decoration," said one man.

Harm looked nervously at Mac. "You gonna be able to do this thing?" Harm asked Mac. "I mean with your leg and all?"

"I don't know," Mac admitted.

"Here, I’ve got an idea," Harm told Mac. He locked his fingers together. "Put your good foot here." Mac did as he told her. Once balanced in Harm's hands, she was able to pull herself through the top of the elevator.

Now it was Harm's turn. He stood up on one of the rails around the inside of the elevator. Then, he swung his arms up and jumped to the small door. He grasped the edges tightly and pulled himself up. Once he was on top of the elevator, he saw that they were just below floor two, and all he had to do was just step slightly up into Mac's waiting arms.

"Nice work, Sailor," Mac complimented. "We do seem to have a knack for getting stuck places, don't we?"

"Unfortunately," Harm replied. They locked their hands together and walked down the hall to Mac's apartment.

"So what sort of leafy green food can I make you, flyboy?" Mac wondered.

"Salad might be nice," Harm replied. Mac smiled. A girl could get used to having lunch with Harm!

Suddenly Mac was aware of Harm standing behind her. "Can I help you?" he asked.

"If you want," Mac replied. Truth was, she'd love to have him cook with her.

Together, the two made Harm a salad and Mac a beef sandwich. "Happier now?" Harm asked Mac.

"Couldn't be better," Mac replied.

"We have a whole afternoon just to spend together!" Mac exclaimed.

"A whole weekend," Harm corrected. "It's Friday."

"So what shall we do?" Mac asked.

"Well... we could call Bud and Harriet and see if they want to do something with us... or not," Harm suggested. He left Mac to fill in the blanks however she wished.

"Why don't we call Bud and Harriet, see if they can come to dinner and a movie with us tonight, and then keep the rest of the weekend to ourselves," Mac decided.

"Perfect," Harm replied. He kissed her forehead softly, and Mac smiled, thinking 'This is what it's like to be in love.'

Harm knocked on Mac's door. Within minutes, she answered. She was wearing a soft, navy blue dress with very thin straps and a matching jacket with no buttons. Her dress stopped at her knees, revealing her long legs.

"Sarah..." Harm gasped. "You look... so.... amazingly beautiful..."

"Thank you," Mac replied softly. She'd been looking for a dress that fit the occasion since 1530, when Harm left. "You look very handsome yourself." Harm smiled and took Mac's arm, and they left the apartment. When they reached Harm's corvette, Harm walked around the car and pulled open Mac's door for her. he closed the door once she'd gotten in, and opened his own door.

"I love your car," Mac told Harm. "But of course I love you more..."

"Thank you, Sarah, I love you so much," Harm returned. "My 'vette is beautiful, but not near as beautiful as you." The two leaned towards each other and shared a long, passionate kiss. When they broke apart, Harm said "As much as I'd love to stay and kiss you all night, Bud and Harriet are going to wonder where we are."

"You're right," Mac sighed, straightening her jacket. "Let's go."

When Harm and Mac got to the restaurant, Bud and Harriet were just pulling into the parking lot. Harm got out of the car, opened the door for Mac, and took her arm as she got out. Harm and Mac then walked up to meet Bud and Harriet. "How are you two?" Harm smiled.

"Fine, Sir," they answered in unison.

"Bud, Harriet," Mac acknowledged. "Repeat after me. Harm and Mac."

"Harmandmac..." muttered Bud and Harriet. They all laughed and went inside the restaurant.

"Four of us," harm told the woman at the front desk.

"Smoking or non?" the woman asked. Harm glanced at Mac. he didn't want to bother her with smoke on an evening like this one. He wanted it perfect. "Non," he decided, earning surprised looks from his three friends.

"I thought you smoked," Mac whispered.

"I do.. did," Harm replied. "But now's the perfect time to quit."

Mac threw her arms around him and grinned. "God, Harm, I love you so much... it's so hard to tell you..."

"I have a pretty good idea, as I feel the same way for you, and since I love you more than I've ever loved anyone, I didn't want to murder you with second hand smoke. I've heard awful things about what that does to people, and I don't want my Sarah to be hurt," Harm smiled. God he wanted to hold her... just kiss her all night...

As they sat down, Bud nudged Harriet. "When do we tell them?" he whispered so that Harm and Mac could not hear.

"After we order," Harriet replied, smiling down at something under the table.

15 minutes later
Fancy restaurant
who knows what city

The waitress scribbled down the last order and walked away.

"Harm, Mac," Harriet said clearly. "Bud and I have an announcement to make."

Harm and Mac just looked at the two of them as Bud held up Harriet's left hand. "We're getting married!" Bud announced.

"Omigod, congratulations!" Mac cried. "That's so wonderful! I'm so happy for you!"

"Yes, congratulations," Harm echoed. "I knew you two would do this sooner or later."

"Thank you both," Harriet smiled. "Bud asked me before this date. That's why we were late, I was busy getting emotional."

"Yeah, but why were you late?" Bud asked mischievously. Harm and Mac both blushed, remembering why they were late.

"We uh... got a bit... wrapped up..." Harm told them. It wasn't exactly lying... they HAD been wrapped up - in each other's arms. Bud and Harriet were laughing. They had understood what Harm had said.

"So, have you two set a date yet?" Mac questioned, hoping to turn the subject to Bud and Harriet.

"We were thinking about January," Harriet replied. "It would be nice to have a snowy wedding."

"It would," Mac agreed politely. She, personally wanted to have a spring wedding someday... to Harm...

"Harm, Mac, we haven't had a chance to tell anyone yet, so would you please keep quiet until we get a chance to let everyone know?" Bud requested.

"Our lips are sealed," Harm assured him.

"Harm?" Bud asked. "Will you be my best man?"

"Bud, I'd be honored!" Harm replied, grinning.

"And Mac," Harriet followed up. "Would you be my matron of honor?"

"Oh Harriet, I would love to," Mac told her, smiling widely.

"Thank you, Mac, Harm. This really means alot to us," Bud grinned.

"We're honored," Mac told him.
