 Gabriel laid in the lash grass next to a gently running stream. His odd colored eyes where closed against the glare of the mid day sun. Anyone looking on would almost think him a normal man out to enjoy the warmth of the day. Almost...

Next to the tall man lay a beautiful blue black wolf bitch. Her tongue rolling softly in an effort to keep cool. Her blue eyes slitted, yet watchful. She knew of the dangers that faced her lir ever day of his life, and she was not one to let her guard down. To fail Gabriel would be to fail herself.

"Relax Rio." came the soft timber of the man's voice as he reached out to stroke the she wolfs head. "The day is warm and beautiful. The grass is green and soft. And we are free. What more could we ask for?"

Rio moved herself slightly and laid her head across his firm stomach. ::We could ask for the right to walk around freely without the fear the we will be attacked. Or understanding perhaps.::

"Perhaps... But no human knows the freedom that we do!:: He opened his yellow eyes to look down at his lir and grinned. ::None of them know what it is like to run as a wolf and rejoice in our life.::

An almost human smile touched the wolf's face and she bit lightly at his hand. ::True Gabriel... Very true.::
