 Alexis spun around quickly. Her pale coloured eyes flaring with anger. She heard Monet but chose to ignore him as she closed the distance between herself and the large Cheysuli warrior.

"We do NOT force our own!!" She screamed as she gave him a push in an attempt to get him away from Jeff. "This boy has done NOTHING to you!! And yet you toss him around like he is nothing more than a dust cloth!!"

Rio laughed quietly as she watched the tiny frail looking teenager push and shove at Gabriel. ::Careful 'Riel.:: she sent. ::I do believe you have angered her.::

Gabriel fought to keep the girls hands from scratching out his eyes as he looked to Rio. "I am glad you find this all so greatly amusing Rio." He quickly twisted Alexis around so that she was facing away from him and he could pin her arms behind her back. "Listen to me you little halfbreed. The boy is placing us all in danger with his screaming and howling. As it is we must all get out of here before the troops come and destroy this little nest of demons."

He let her go and gave her a shove away from him. "Now listen, you have two choices, and I don't care which of 'em you choose."

"First choice, you go back to whatever hole you climbed out of. You have my thanks in getting the boy here, but I will handle it from here on out."

Alexis silently tapped down her urge to tear out his throat and simply glared at him from slitted eyes. "And what is my second choice?"

Rio trotted up to her and nudged her hand lightly. ::Come with us. You might be able to help us open him mind. And I think he will find it comforting having you along.::

Gabriel nodded as he whistled loudly. A great black horse ran from seemingly nowhere and stopped before the warrior. With a gentlness Alexis had thought void of the man before her, Gabriel lifted Jeff to the stallions back and mounted behind him so as to cradle the long legged youth. "It is your choice."

Alexis looked to the wolf bitch. ::He does not know?::

Rio placed herself head of the the horse as a guard and, without looking back to Alexis, replied ::No liren. Both the boy and my lir do not know. Gabriel knows you are part cheysuli, he does not know of Monet.::

To Gabriel she said, "I'll go with you. Jeff needs someone around who cares about him." As she climbed up to sit behind Gabriel she said quietly to Rio. ::Do not tell him. I perfer her thinks me helpless for now.::

Rio and the horse set of into the deeper darker parts of the jungle. ::For now Alexis. But I'll not let you harm him no matter how wrong he is in his actions.::

Gabriel, unaware of the conversation between Alexis and Rio, set about untying the boy and making him more comfortable in the saddle. Then, as if a after thought he dusted a light finger over the boys freckled nose and smiled. ::Open your mind boy. This is a fair better place than any human mind has ever imagined.::
