"Well, again, the same case can be made for OUR seemingly tired old mantra of the Bible and the life of Christ, can't it?"

You are, of course, kidding. Faith in Christ is the most exciting, most wonderful experience we can have in this life -- by far!!! He is the most wonderful, the most excellent Person we can ever meet and become acquainted with. He forgives our every sin, meets our every need, heals our every disease, loves us with an everlasting love, gives our lives meaning and purpose and direction, gives us assurance of our eternal home with Him, gives us a foretaste of it in this life, strengthens us and empowers us to live this life with confidence and to eagerly anticipate the one to come. Get to know Him better, Doris.

After all this time, Murray, you should have been able to discern that "doris" doesn't know Christ at all.
Instead of "doris" getting to know Christ better, "doris" need to be "born again of the Spirit of God" so she can know Christ at all. At this point, "doris" is as lost and blind as her new age guru, minder.
