as they did enjoy mischief a very lot! Fontevraud is the abbey that King John's 2nd wife and widow Isabella of Angouleme retired to after the failure of her marriage to Hugh de Lusignan, if I am not mistaken.
Antonia Fraser does specialize in Stuart period, but she has written a couple of other things as well. I am well into Warrior Queens and enjoying it a lot. I also very much liked The Weaker Vessel.
I saw a couple bios of Eleanor last time I was in Salt Lake at the used bookstore there. Hopefully they will languish there until I can get back to them!
As far as the MB circuit goes men can talk about there penises all the time but women have got to discuss the outside world!

      - I stumbled on some paper that gave several names for Isabella G. It didn't click with me then, but maybe I can find it again. If I remember right - not sure about that - one of the names was Hawisa. Usually that's another form of Isabella, but it might be a contorted form of Alice (or the other way round) which sometimes is given as Adelicia. -- Alie, 19:50:21 03/07/01 Wed
