I dont think this bill is going to fix anything. It does very little if anything for the cost part of the equation. All it really does is go to those that make 88K per year or more with new taxes to pay for healthcare for those that dont have it.
It encourages employers to not offer insurance and some to drop insurance they offer today. Why you ask? Because the fine is $750. The $750 penalty on employers who decided not to insure their workers would be far less than they would pay in premiums for the $12,000 minimum required plan.

Medicaid has all along said it would be able to control price by negotiating how much they will pay for certain things. Well you can only go to that well so often. Now more and more Dr offices and drug companies (walgreens and CVS and the like) wont accept Medicaid customers because the return on investiment is negative. Basically they would be working for free.

Here is the other thing about this.... it will force my insurance to go up.. not just a little but a lot. Insurance companies are not going to work for free and again since we arent hitting 'root cause' which is cost, insurance will just become more expensive for those making over 88K per year so they can subsidize those that dont have any.

The debt... This will add more than 1 trillion to the debt.. 1 trillion more than we can afford.... And it will only go up. No Govt plan has come in at cost... Medicaid, Medicare, Prescription drug program, SS now, all are running in the red.. all are running costs far beyond what they proposed. This is larger than any of those. Expect 3 to 4 times what is projected in costs.

We can only afford that kind of debt if the interest rates stay close to 0%. When those rates go up, and they will, expect a total shutdown of govt services or tax rates that will be crazy. You dont get something for nothing. Someone has to pay. Also expect the govt to get creative in ways to pay for these things. I wont be surprised if they decide they need to start taxing 401K's and Pension plans as the baby boomer retire in force.

This plan is not pretty...... and it will not be what people think it will.
