Yes is does sound crazy...

But I have experienced something similar. A few years ago when I was meditating more than I do now, I tried lying flat on my back directly onto the floor with no support and just closing my eyes while using breathing exercises. I then drift into a darkness and as you have said, start to hear weird noises.

I was seeing a faith healer at the time and told her what I had experienced, explaining that it did'nt feel good doing it, and she basically told me not to do that again, which I have not.

And so, it has'nt happened again . . .
