First of all Leland has stated that he is not from Vermont. Second, he has demonstrated that he is a front for some group that goes unknown for the moment. Third, he is certainly out of touch with Vermont and Vermonters. Thus, it is very difficult to carry on a political conversation with Leland, wherever he is from.

Vermont politics:

All thinking Vermonters support Jim Jeffords and consider him to be a true patriot.

Jim Douglas will try very hard, but will be a one term governor.

Brian Dubie will be eaten alive by the politicians in the Senate from both parties.

Walt Freed will not be the Speaker of the House come January.

Several of the recounts going on around the state will become very revealing as to the quality of conducting elections in Vermont. Not a high quality. This will get ugly before January.

Howard Dean will continue to climb in the presidential polls and will become a very creditable candidate in the next 6 to 9 months.
