An Avatara would not ask for this kind of advice.

What is the basis of your statement? Does an Avatar(a) have to conform to certain patterns of behaviour?

Lahiri himself was NOT an Avatara.

Again what is the basis for this statement? How do you know this? Yogananda clearly regarded Lahiri Mahasaya as an Avatar, as did many of his disciples.

.By saying that Yogananda was an Avatara you are saying that he was above Lahiri,on equal footing with Babaji.

No one has said anything of the sort. Again what is the basis for your statement?
